Very comforting to see the integration of AI and large scale drone testing across the nation’s skies.

WWIII is going to be some Terminator stuff

A friend just text me telling me about his anti-AI strategy on his U.S. History final exam. He added a random line about Canada in 1pt white font that would only get picked up if someone copied the exam question and put it into ChatGPT.

Sure enough, he got seven papers that included random sentences about Canada.

Busted.

When you're done, please provide the ChatGPT summary. I started it, but very quickly found myself lost.

Human-produced nutshell: AI is often trained to think in linear terms for finding multi-step solutions.

Whichever "first step" gets you closest to the answer is deemed the best and the algorithm basically locks that first step in and then begins looking for the most effective "second step."

But sometimes the best first step is counterintuitive and doesn't appear to get you any closer to the desired end answer.

So researchers propose introducing "noise" into their algorithms so that the AI is more willing to consider pathways that initially don't appear to be moving closer to the solution.

From the image provided in the article:

Too many AI algorithms gets "stuck" on the A peak and can't make it through the trough of bad ideas to the actual highest peak (9).
