He has to shoot more. He's gone 2 out of the last 3 games without a single SOG. Not gonna get it done.
Just for context, Auston Matthews his rookie season had at least 1 SOG in every single game (and he played all 82). Last edited by razorsharp; 10-25-2023 at 06:26 PM. |

Re Bedard. Said it at the draft but Chicago was the worst team for him to go to in the short term (arguably the long term too but that's more up for debate) What isnt up for debate is that he has no one to play with, and no #1 centre in front of him to help shelter him a bit. Had he went to Anaheim, Columbus, Montreal, etc. he would have had much better teammates and others to take pressure off him Going to be a long year. |

I'm a huge fan of good local kid Paul and he was a brilliant skater and playmaker until he got decimated in the NHL to the point that the sourness still remains. But he wasn't McDavid. https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=Awrj...NyzKewrlEnBrc- |

Is Bedard in Series 1 Hockey this year or only as a insert type of thing and his YG will be in Series 2?

Guess it's a good thing he has leeway until his YG releases to really go off since no one seems to be paying attention until then lol
Bedard scores again tonight, and it counts this time |

Kids got a real nice shot when he gets space, teams need to play a tight D on him

How is this thread so dead? Is it because no cards real cards are out yet (yes I know about the late addition into series 1).

He is scoring on a regular basis and the only reasons he is not being talked about more is his lack of cards and there being no desire to bring attention to him from non-hickey people. Currently the focus of many of the investor types is on non-nba JERSEY cards of VICTOR.

IMO it also has to do with the fact that he hasn’t really stood out amongst the other rookies in the class. He’s hovering right around that 7-8 point area that is also occupied by 10 other rookies.

I think most people were expecting 60+ points. 10 games into the season, Bedard's pace is 57 in 82 games. |

Bedard is going to struggle to put up big numbers as long as he is playing with this roster. It's one of the worst of the cap era.

It would be great if Series 2 presell prices would reflect reality. Wishful thinking I know.

The rookie class is absolutely stacked, PLUS we've got the introduction of 1/1s and a bunch of other short-print YGs. I personally think the hobby prices should command a massive premium to previous years.

I don't disagree with this, but he's also basically on a 40 goal / 80 point pace as an 18yr old, 11 games into his NHL career. The ridiculousness of expectations and how some folks are measuring "success" & "living up to the hype" is hilarious.....
