Lets put you in the GM's seat for second. Who are you drafting in the first round? Keep in mind the Dolphins have 3 first round draft picks this year.

Like, let us know.

I'd take Herbert or Tua. I'm not an NFL scout but I'd take whichever grades out better based on evaluations & interviews.

I wouldn't trade up for either, I think trading up rarely works out well. If both are gone when I pick (unlikely), then I'd look at BPA.

OU was close as Jon Gray went #3 in the baseball draft. Not sure if any other Oklahoma baseball player came close to being top pick.

Mike Swenton went #2 overall. Ever hear of him? Me neither.

What draft was that? It doesn't look like the main one because I can't find anything on it.

Also, how was Swenton drafted by two teams in the 1st round of a draft?

Any Panther fans here?

Would y'all trade #7 (Simmons), #38, and #69 to the Raiders for #12, #19, and #81?

This gets you 2 1st Rounders to fill your DL, LB, CB needs. Maybe you come away with Kinlaw and Kenneth Murray?

Yeah, I'm a bit confused too. Apparently they used to have a secondary phase of the draft, months after the first one. And they picked the guys that didn't sign the first go-round. But then when you click on it, those drafts show two #1 overall picks, two #2 overall picks, etc.. Beats me.

Thats not a great trade for the Raiders at all. Trading up for a 1 year wonder doesn't seem like a great idea especially with huge hole at WR CB and to a lesser extent LB. Kenneth Murray makes much more sense at 19 and hopefully Lamb at 12 then package a couple 3rd rounders to get back into the second

Looks like the Raiders are close to trading 19 to the Jags for Yannick. Not sure how I feel about that since it’s not really a position of need. Crosby looks great and Ferrell was a top 5 pick who played well.

Damn. Didn't even realize Crosby had 10 sacks as a rookie. I heard the Jags are wanting the #12 pick.

Yeah that’s what I’m reading too. Hoping it falls apart. Yannick wants 20ish mil a year and has had 9.5 and 8 sacks the last two years. Easy pass for me I’d much rather they draft Kenneth Murray who can be a stud for many years.

All that said my guess is they trade for Yannick and trade up for Tua as those are both very Raiders moves

It's a good trade for the Raiders. Our holes as you said are CB and LB. Simmons plays LB on base downs and he moves to slot or safety on nickel which will be pivotal when we play Kelce, Henry, and Fant twice a year. He fills out both those positions and saves us a roster spot. That allows us to push Joyner back to FS where he excels more at.

Further, the draft is loaded at WR this year, there's going to be a starter there at #38 whether it's Aiyuk, Higgins, Shenault, Mims, or Pittman.

Mayock has said multiple times that 20-60 is the sweet spot. Lastly, there will be no BPA at #19 unless Henderson is there (or we take a LB, assuming we go triplet WR at #12), the 3rd tier CB's are not worth a reach at #19 and Kinlaw likely will be gone by that point.

They don’t need to make the trade though at 12 getting Lamb an 19 getting Murray is way better for the team then getting Simmons alone. They can bundle a couple 3rds to get into the 2nd.

I’d love them to get Pittman at some point as I think he’s really over looked with all the other talent at Wr in the draft

Doesn’t sound like any of it matters anyway as there are a lot of reports that they are trading 19 for the jags for Yannick which I don’t like

I rather have Simmons and Aiyuk/Pittman/Higgins than Lamb and Murray, plus whoever we get with the 69th pick (Maybe another WR, starting Guard, DT, CB). (Lamb and Murray is my preferred anyways if we don't trade down/up).

I think the Yannick trade is complete smoke. I don't see Mayock trading that type of capital for a nickel pass rusher who wants $20m per and fights with his Owner.

I hope you’re right about the trade but there are a ton of reports so who knows, plus we all know Gruden has the final say

Per draft hot take - Jordan Love is going to be the most successful QB in this draft. He had the tools, he produced with minimal talent around him and he’s going to end up on the most stable team.

I really believe he needs to sit. Colts would make a lot of sense.

Call the Colts and tell them to trade with the Titans at 29. Do it now.

Yup, let him sit and learn. I think he has the mental toughness. He just needs to transition to the NFL game.

I'd rather have him than Herbert. But they'll likely end up in two pretty different situations.

I think he's gone before 29
