And here are my other two items my lovely wife got me...

A signed letter (and envelope) from Bill Veeck on St. Louis Browns Letterhead not too long before the team moved to Baltimore. I really wonder what game he’s referring to that they didn’t let him pull off one of his legendary cockamamy schemes...

And also this simple, but awesome piece of Yankees 2nd Baseman, Joe Gordon. I always thought I’d try to get a 1969 Topps Auto of his since he was the Royals first Manager but this is better. It’s his response to being invited to the 20th Yankees’ Old Timers Game. Included with the note are photocopies of the letters written to Joe inviting him to the game including one from General Manager (and former Yankees Manager, Ralph Houk, and Joe’s expenses letter. I didn’t take pics of those documents but they are very cool and really add to the piece.

To say that I'm jealous would be an understatement. Yes, the autographs for sure but more specifically, Mrs. Skip. The fact that the daughters are in on the hobby with you too is just a huge bonus, you're doing something right.

My wife would rather light money on fire than buy me a sports card. To be fair, she considers both to be the same thing. That might be partially my fault, I severely under represent the value of cards so as to keep down the complaining of what I may be spending.

Whew, I'm a little behind since Hoyt Wilhelm.

The only one I have though from Wilhelm- Ted Williams is Billy Williams. I have his RC, and two autos.

Well, No Teddy Ballgame Auto, but I do have this bat relic as a place holder:

Ha! Well, I am definitely lucky in that regard. But the true lucky ones are my girls. They hit more amazingly ridiculous stuff including probably the greatest pack hit I have ever seen...coming in my next post...

Here it is. In all it’s glory. This belongs to my youngest, Judi, who hit it in a pack of 2012 Archives with odds of something like 1 in 365,000 packs...a Ted Williams Topps Baseball Card Contract!

Thanks! I love it. I still remember her hitting it and it taking me about 5 minutes to figure out what the heck had just happened.

Picked this up at the National, was an unexpected pickup-in a good way. These are getting tougher to locate.
