I think this was an orchestrated attack on FTX. Just like Luna, someone knew there wasn't sufficient liquidity and took advantage of it.

Conspiracy but I think that someone was binance and now they're going to buy them out for pennies.

They didn't have the assets to pay out customers. They were tied up in illiquid coins, most of it being their own token. It was a house of cards.

Even if Binance helped kick off the downfall, it falls of FTX for having customer funds invested in random speculative #@#@#@#@.

SBF had enough money to donate $40m to political candidates and the company bought the Heat's arena naming rights, among other big advertising spends. These guys are morons and/or crooks.

He also was pushing heavily for regulation, I guess he was right in the end

Irrelevant. The company was backed by a token they made themselves, and used that token for leverage. It was all a sham. I am certain that FTX and SBF were using their pretend assets as collateral for loans in USD. This is a contagion event for crypto.

Binance out of the deal. Nice manipulation by them to extend a temporary lifeline to all their friends to get out while there was still time.

FTT and FTX are going to zero. SBF is going to $0 and prison if there is any justice.

I would actually welcome this. I sold out some yesterday to do some tax loss harvesting for the year.... so, the 30 day clock starts.

Bankman-Fried was just another dunce in a line of defunct crypto CEO millennials with absolutely zero business acumen thrust into a landscape filled with low barriers-to-entry and no questions asked investors. He's gone on record numerous times stating FTX has and will continue to dip into high risk business acquisition deals with not even the slightest bit of concern, while also stating none of those 8 figure deals will ever dip into the investor bank. And not a single balance sheet was seen that day. Fk'n lol.

The magical internet funny munny originally designed to be decentralized and completely sovereign now spearheaded by investerbois clamoring for gubment regulations and MuH PeAce Of MiNd protections.

Don’t let him off so easy. He’s a scammer, a fraudster, and a thief.

They all evolved as incel basement programmers. I'd like to think the corruption stemmed from the overwhelming influx of new (first ever) Tinder/Grindr dm's.

That monetary attention hit different.

You don't want any regulation or oversight, this is what no regulation and no oversight looks like.

From what I can tell they only appeared in promotional stuff in exchange for equity.

First article is a click bait headline.

FauxMO news to trap the monkey avatar kiddos. It's hilarious people actually fall for it. National Enquirer level type stuff. He just got a bunch of fiat and equity shares for doing a few measly 30 second commercials. I'm sure he's hurting with his failed free IOU's.

It's crazy to be a multi billion dollar exchange didn't even have a CFO... like wtf?

Turns out SBF had no clue how to actually run a sustainable business lol

Nice risk to reward to go long here imo for a short term trade if one can average down to 75 in scenario 1. The above is based on a high of 385 and low of 75-85 and a 23% fib retracement rally. I am playing with the house money on LEAP options with exit targets of 98-100 and 120-125. Added LEAP call spread (Jan 2025, 50/150 call spread) at 38.50 yesterday.
Left some profits on the table. Should have held on to my LEAP call spreads a little longer. Could have, should have, would have....

Yes I am sure the 2 of them put $650 million in a ridiculously risky investment all while going through the early stages of a divorce.... because that's what people getting divorced do....

I know they did not put 650 million and I do not think that is what the article eludes to other than a clickbait headline, hence my question "How much did they lose?" Does anyone know the specifics of the investment other than the speculation that they were given a stake in exchange for endorsing the company. Some rich people do stupid things. Remember Adolf Merckle, the German billionaire who lost his fortune by shorting Volkswagen stock and ended up committing suicide. Curious to know if Brady invested his own money in FTX.
