I thought with good health they ceilinged out at 6th seed. They've obviously been riddled with injuries this season and look like a young team.

Young team, has never contended. They had no idea how to close teams out. Then you add injuries. I don't agree with the firing.

Yeah this type of team needs their pieces in place before you make this kind of move. No time to form an identity and they may just slide harder now

I don't exactly disagree with it either... You can't blow that many 4th Q leads and put it all on the players. That's what coaches are paid for. 4th Q = the real chess match, especially in close games or games you're leading.

And the team is young, but not completely. If the kids aren't getting it done, Rondo is right there, Gallo + Capela are experienced also.

well 1 it's Atlanta...Teams here find ways to lose 4th qtr leads...sorry guys

But Rondo is really the only leadership option. He's been in-out of the lineup. No Bogdan and 0 Dunn which could get a couple needed stops down the stretch.

Rondo is unfortunately washed. He's been terrible all year. Gallo + Capela though should be better late game.

Gotta love the Nets fans pumping their chests now after the Harden trade.

Must I remind you Brooklyn was a .500 team while Kyrie bounced to take a must needed vacation.

That said, I’m usually conservative with my picks and broke that rule with Atlanta. The Hawks have been a massive disappointment. They were playing above expectations and injuries started coming in. I’ll man up to it and take my L.

He doesn't have to go out there and be playoff Rondo - but provide some timely advice - be a floor general when out there, and get in Trae's ear about game management. I haven't been playing close attention to that, but haven't seen/heard anything about his+Trae's relationship.

Starting to also wonder if that's kinda on Trae. So far we have possible rift with J Collins, and known rift with L Pierce. Not saying he needs to be best friends with Rondo either, but there's a guy a young PG could really learn from.

I had them at 5. They certainly looked like a mid tier EC team good enough to make the playoffs I thought. Deandre Hunter was finally showing signs of life, Capela was balling. Rondo was supposed to bring his intangibles and the pieces around Trae was enough to cover his defensive deficiencies.

This season is wild anyway. Charlotte and New York in the playoff picture? Mavericks out? Other than the Top 3 for each conferences, no one has properly predicted the standings would look like this.

Remember when people thought the Hawks were a legit team?

Trae ain't it...

In a side note, to Philly fans, which would you rather given the current roster

Ben Simmons or Brogdon & Justin Holiday.

The one who is not only All-NBA, but also much younger than the other 2.

I understand the All NBA, just wondering if Brogdon would be a better fit with that team. Better shooter, very good defender and high basketball IQ

I think he has a lower basketball IQ and has a serious issue holding onto the ball. The Hawks don't have the defense or offensive firepower to have Trae handle the ball the way he does.

Just my opinion

10th in points and 3rd in assists at 22 years old. Ain't it. And it's not like the Hawks haven't had any injuries or anything.

Sorry I should have been more clear. I feel like the Trae hype is unwarranted. He's a special talent when it comes to shooting and creativity on offense, but I don't think he's as good as he's hyped up to be.

Nope...

I'll take the guy that at at 24 is already a
-3 time All Star
-3rd team All NBA
-1st team Defensive All NBA

vs the guy who at age 28 is none of that.
