Logistically this is not feasible. Direct and distributor accounts maybe, but eBay, FB, IG, Tic Toc, whatnot, eBay, group breaks…it’s a ridiculous notion and will never happen. Not ever. Can u imagine the logistics in trying that?

Time to redo your Topps 2020 with a pic of you flipping them both birds.

My guess is hobby boxes and current run of blasters were packed simultaneously hence no SPs

So how many jumbo boxes and hobby boxes were produced? Divide that by 5 and thats your print run. Seems like these esps will be common.

Should have recalled the product.

The hobby/jumbo wrappers don’t have any odds listed for the cards, correct? This is just a convenient out for Topps not to have to give buyers of retail anything, even though they were supposed to be there too. As others have said, retail is already being ripped, and none have surfaced.

Yes it says 1 silver pack to be provided per hobby box specifically. Wouldn't seem right to include 1 silver pack for a $300 hobby box and 1 silver pack for a $100 hobby lite box but, then again, it's Topps.

Still waiting for their statement about the missing base autos. There’s no doubt they fumbled those as well

Well, there's Hobby boxes, Hobby Jumbo and Hobby Lite. So the concensus is that Topps will give out these silver packs with Hobby and Hobby Jumbo purchases only?

Not missing. Just never made. Topps/Fanatics are cheap. Can’t pay up for all those autos. But also can’t afford to communicate that the top player won’t have the full array of autos.

I can't imagine these silver packs just being 2 of the SPs. A hobby box has what, 4x24 = 96 cards, expected hits add up to ~22, so that's 74 base cards. Out of a 220-card checklist. In other words about a 1/3 chance of hitting any given base card in any given box. If you make a silver pack that has 2/5 of the ESP cards, for EVERY box, that would actually mean there were MORE copies of each of them than there are of each of the other 220 base cards.

Similar math for jumbo - 13 x 12 = 156, hits add up to something like 45 so call it 110 base cards? So ~1/2 chance of hitting any given base card. If you give one silver pack containing 2/5 of the ESPs, that would be only SLIGHTLY SP compared to the other 220 base cards - and if you did 2 silver packs as is typical for jumbo, you're back to them being more common again.

I mean that would be my guess. Although they just state hobby now, I would assume they'll clarify it's for hobby jumbo as well. Maybe they give 2 silver packs for each hobby jumbo box like they do for other hobby jumbo releases?

What are the chances that the extended base SPs are regular stock like the base? If they are thicker stock, these are all going to get weighed.

It's truly insane. So many people jumping to their own conclusions and winding everyone else up about it.

I'm pretty sure Topps will further clarify around what SKUs have already been shipped with the SPs in them and whether they are providing packs for both hobby and jumbo/hta. People just have to rely on their distributor/hobbyshop/breakers to do the right thing and pass them on.

I bought the products, but I'm not angry at the mistake. Seems a lot of people in here haven't even bought the product but hell angry when it doesn't even affect them directly.

THAT is THE MOST ridiculous take I've heard.

Also remember: there were several, several products on the calendar that have been delayed in release date. Many of which were originally scheduled before Chrome.

Topps has extended delays of several popular products so that they could rush out a product that turned out to have very serious QC issues in its place. You've made people wait for their cards, and this is the best they can do?

From what I got, the silver pack will contain 2 of the 5 esps meaning print run through the roof.

I'm about to return my blasters back to Fanatics. I've never done that, but screw this.

This is perfect, we can scapegoat Topps for every problem in the world now.

So could average nearly 5 of each of the "SP" rookies per 12 box hobby case (12 silver packs, IF 2 SP RCs per pack, 5 card SP set). 4 cards per pack, 24 packs per box, 12 boxes per case = 1152 cards in a hobby case. 220 card set...roughly 5 of each card in a case...so the SP rookies are about the same ratio as the regular 220 cards...not really an SP but more like the rest of the base cards? Wonder if there will be colored parallels.

The math seem to suggest that at best, a silver pack "may" have 1 of the 5 SPs...but also very possible/more than likely there is zero of the SPs in most of the 2 card silver packs. Guess we will see very soon once the silver packs get out and people start to open them what the ratio of SPs are in the packs.

They say the 5 SPs will be randomly inserted in the 2-card silver packs. It would be crazy if that's all they include in these packs as that's not much for randomness. But, who knows what Topps is thinking?

You know what, I just realized: if the scuttlebutt is true that Fanatics is reducing the number of distributors in the game (like GTS), that means Topps is about to provide a whole boatload of silver packs to distributors that they're about to cut out of the hobby. Meaning there's actually no consequences to some of these distributors just pocketing the packs.

oh no
