#1 is sort of cheating. It actually just passed eBay's authenticity center and should be in hand in the next few days. Not the most iconic card, but the seller priced it at the same price as the /25 non-patch version:

What is everyone's predictions for Patty stats for the season? I don't know why, but I am expecting a big statistical season from him this season. 4,500-5,000 yards and 35-40 touchdowns.

There are very high expectations for him this year. Last year he was not great, period. He's got some weapons this year and a very bad taste in his mouth from his SB dud. We saw some flashes with Xavier and a few nice deep balls in pre-season. I think he feels the pressure of being great and we will see how he handles it (if history has shown anything, he'll handle it well). It would be really nice if we could have a running game this year, but with no major changes it's doubtful.

I think he'll throw some INTs again, especially if he's trying to push the ball downfield more. I'll go 38 TDs and 15 INTs.

An Andy Reid signed ball. But not any ball.. this was the ball that sent the Chiefs to the Super Bowl and sent the Buffalo Bills packing in the AFC Championship game.

I've photomatched this ball to several significant plays:

1. Mahomes to Watson 2 pt conversion (Final Score of the game)


2. Mahomes to Perine 3rd and 9 play to ice the game.


3. Probable match to Mahomes touchdown run that put the Chiefs ahead for good.


Pretty big ball in Mahomes lore. Goes well with my SB 54 Balls and my :13 Second games 4th quarter ball.

I'll post my 3rd and final pickup before kickoff. Hint: It's a much bigger deal

Many internet searches. There are a couple of auction houses that wind up with these. The key is spending a lot of time researching the ball for significance. There ae quite a few game used balls out there, but ones used in significant games for significant player with good photo matches are tough to find.

Time for the top pickup of the offseason.... but first a story that starts here in this thread...

Back about a month after the Super Bowl, I spent a good deal of time thinking about what a top 10 Mahomes Iconic cards list would look like. I ignored 1 of 1s, and worked to come up with a list. For a long time, I considered his NT RPA to be his most iconic card. Which was great because I have one. But I finally relented to the fact that the run up in Prizm Golds has made these cards the defining force of the Panini era, similar to how PMGs are the kings of 90s cards.

I was ready to post the list here, when I got pinged by a collector who really wanted a card I had. The next 2-3 weeks were some intense and sometimes stressful, but in good faith, negotiations. Finally I turned a good chunk of my non-NT Mahomes collection into what I consider to be his most iconic card. A real end game card in collecting. So without any further suspense, to kick off the 2025 NFL season, here's my top Mahomes pick of this year (and probably ever):
