Scored a sweet Jason Witten Jersey last night. It's a 2004 Players of the century edition. Not familiar with jerseys but this line seems to do well... Only 1 completed listing for this particular jersey.

Cowboys Jersey 82 Witten Players of The Century Limited 2004 Size 50 L Sewn | eBay

Is that that junky one right off the interstate when you come in from the North? I tild you Austin thrift store prices were far from thrifty. If you ever watch Youtube videos Bonafide Hustler is from the Austin area, he has said Garage Sales are the only way to go there.

Hey guys, I recently got into thrifting with some of my buddies, and I'd like to ask for some tips from some of you experienced thrifters. Tips like stuff to keep your eye out for such as brands or things to avoid. If you have any tips please either mention me or PM me. Thank you so much

If you visit retail stores many times you may catch employees breaking down boxes while stocking. That's a way to make good use of time.

Female jeans? Which brand(s)?!

My friend is opening a non profit charity thrift/furniture/consignment store and I will be there to help. Most of my items including cards will go in there as I also use her office space for personal business.

Any general pointers, suggestions, questions etc about this?

My first sale was a LeRoy Butler Packers jersey for $20.55 and my last sale of the year was a 1997 Packers Crewneck Sweatshirt. My sale to push me past $10,000 in sales was also a Packers item. As a Vikings fan I gotta think someone is messing with me.

My top 10 highest dollar sales were:

Kentucky Jersey Smith - $155.00
Logo Athletic Minnesota Timberwolves Puffer Jacket Full Zip - $115.00
Easton Redline Bat -12 - $109.99
2002 Olympic Volunteer Jacket - $105.00
Little People Houseboat #985 - $90.99
80 - LSU Tigers Lanyards - $85.21
Red Pittsburgh Pirates Starter Jacket - $79.99
Chalk Line Raiders Satin Jacket - $74.99
Starter Iowa Hawkeyes Black Satin Jacket L - $74.99
Candide Poster - $70.00

Overall my numbers were:

Items Purchased: 2,124 ($6256)
Items Sold: 786 ($16,064)
Profit: $7513 (Assuming 20% in other expenses such as mileage - $6010)
Current Items in Inventory: 1164 ($3438)
Fees earned selling on consignment: $584

If I just maintain my sales I should sell over 30K next year minimum, but I hope to triple what I'm doing right now by December of next year.

All in all, I've lost my basement, but this has allowed me to earn money while staying home with my baby. We're saving $13,000 a year just doing that. I have five classes left to finish my accounting degree and another year for the CPA. I think this will a nice flexible part time job while I finish up the degree and the certificate.
How do you keep up with the sales and numbers? Use a program?

Miss Me and Tru Religion are the biggest sellers on the Womens side(but here they never even find the floor at the stores). Levis for men are usually consistent sellers., but arr so high priced in thrift stores its often hard to make them worthwhile except for as filler and quick turn items.

I agree on the Miss Me jeans for women. Actually bought my wife a new pair for Christmas...ouch!

Another good brand is Seven For All Mankind. Not to be confused with Seven7 Jeans, which are a much cheaper brand.

Regarding womens clothing, how bad is the return rate on clothing? Several have mentioned that the return rate is much higher.

Somehow I just can't see myself searching through women's clothing racks...

On the old Ebay boards womens clothing sellers were some of the loudest complainers about having to do rentals on Ebay. Buyer buys shirt for event then after event invents a flaw and returns it for full refund.

Used my lunch break today to hit the closest goodwill for dollar t shirt day. Left with 39 T shirts. Bout 15 of them were NEW Stone Cold Steve Austin T Shirts, some with the WWF collar tag. Got around 6 Raiders shirts, and half of those were vintage Salem or Starter. Cant wait to get home and go thru it all.

After I bought the shirts I went back in and went to the housewares. Got 24 Sports/movie related plastic cups, and 2 hardcover books of Jurassic Park, and The lost world. Not the movie cover ones, but the originals.
