Honestly, the fanny is pretty sick with a lot of drip (as the zoomers would say). It's just the player selection that was a gigantic letdown. Seems as though he just quickly gathered as many worthless bass kards from his personal breaks to spray down and toss in there. Like 20% of my encased hits were current or future HOFers. Maybe I just got the short end of the stick, which is entirely possible. Most left me scratching my head.

I will add on the plus side I thought it was cool that they are numbered as the first fanny pack offering. Also like that the packs are individually numbered on the inside and he autographed it (at least I think it's an actual auto???). That was cool. Just wish the player selection was better. I think I just got one of the worst runs. That has to be the only logical explanation, because the breaks posted on youtube were far better. Even had a few of my encased hits (the worst names by far) in regular toploaders with his sticker on them. I'm guessing he ran out of one touches, or felt it would be disrespectful to house those scrubs in one. Winsum, loozsum.

My best prospect was AJ Puk. The immediate word that came out my mouth added a nice letter to that last name.

The box these come in is not sealed on the sides and can easily pull the fanny pack out and put it back in looking like it wasnt opened. SO, I wouldnt think about buying one of these on the secondary market thinking it hasnt been looked through. Im pretty dissapointed in the fanny pack. Im glad its at least MAde in the USA
My three encased cards were Dustin May, Stan Musial and Arnold Palmer. The 5 loose cards were nobody. He said he was gonna "load these up", yeah not quite. Was very disappointing. Last edited by TheWrightStuff; 07-21-2020 at 11:56 PM. |

Hold your fanny packs until Friday.
I heard Gary Vee is going to make a big surprise announcement about them. |

I think you just gotta take the fannies as almost a total loss at this point, and keep rollin' with the punches.
I just wouldn't dwell on it or think of it in terms of value or investment. Also: Reminder to everyone that utilizing the ignore list is an absolute MUST for maximum Project 2020 thread enjoyment.

I didnt even buy any fannies but reading about everyone's sorrow makes me want to cry. A dark night in P2020dom. I think Blake and his chaps tried to do right by people, but the market is saying otherwise at this point. I may pick one up on the cheap as a memento of the times. Still a fan of Blake, he's a young cat with big dreams trying hard to be a good man. I can dig that.
On another note, Wheeler you still on the After Midnight tip? I bailed on last night's purchase, freaked out after sales slowed way down on the Mics and all the announcements of various P2020 ephemera yesterday. But we are under 100 left and I'm considering buying another couple. It's a Companion I believe in. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

Please remind me, How much did Blake sell the fannypack for originally? $300?

Of course me saying that is totally unfair to Blake, and I don't mean it like that. I really don't. I think Blake is an amazing artist and I think he really meant well. But, charging $200 was a bit high. Quote:

My fanny pack comes in tomorrow. I have already pre-sold it so all I will be doing is slapping a new shipping label on it and sending it on its way. I sold it here on Blowout a week ago so I hope the buyer hits a McGwire auto or Jackie P2020 base.

Blake is probably my least favorite P2020 artist, but, what, $240 for a painted fanny pack with plenty of stuff inside seems somewhat reasonable compared to $100 for a single mass-produced companion art card numbered to close to 1000, or $500 for an artist signature that's hard to read on a busy card.
All of the ephemera seems risky at this point unless you love the artist and don't mind holding it until the market is no longer saturated with flippers flipping. I agree he should've put one hot rookie (hotter than AJ Puk) and one hall-of-famer in each pack, but paint-covered Mike Trout cards probably won't have much long-term value unless Blake ups his game in P2020. He's been quiet since his McGwire. |

Wasn’t there a Topps tweet about using both Blake Ichiro versions or did I misread?
