Yes. Sort of like Buchholz outdueled Scherzer in game 2 of the ALCS

Yeah, I watched the game, and I'm not sure anyone outdueled anyone. Both pitchers were solid until their final inning. The game hinged on a few outstanding defensive plays and the big fat mistake that was the two-error play.

That was as symbolic of a Cardinal win as you're going to get. After their worst game of the season in Game 1, they dusted their jerseys off and limped to their feet, just as they always do. Carlos Beltran went from the hospital in Game 1 to being a hero of Game 2 24 hours later. Now they have home field advantage in what is now a Best of 3 series.

I hope that Jake Peavy's lackluster history against the Cardinals in October resurfaces, and--by some miracle or ethereal dream--Lance Lynn shows up with his best stuff in Game 4. Wainwright at home in Game 5 will be lights out, and we all know that Michael Wacha can give us a fighting chance for Game 6. And how about that bullpen? It's what propelled the Cardinals to the World Series in 2011, and it's done the same in 2013 with all new names.

Us Cardinal fans are very fortunate to be alive to witness this era of Cardinal baseball. Never forget it as baseball fans.

It's now a best of 5 (not 3). As for the pitching, we heard the same about Sanchez, Scherzer and Verlander. It would have been nice if the Sox had won last night but this is still anyone's Series to win. Do not expect the Sox to roll over.

I'd take a Cardinal celebration at Fenway. That's like, the ideal revenge scenario.

That said, I've got the Sox taking 3, 4, and 6. Hopefully the Cards prove me wrong.

Wish Miller was starting over Lynn.Guess his innings count has something to do with it, I dunno.

Who said Red Sox would "roll over" anyway? No one.

I am still going Sox in 6 but I feel like the Sox had their foot on the Cardinals throat last night and now gave them a huge boost.

2-0 going to St Louis, death. Now I could honestly see the Cardinals winning the next year.

I dont think it happens, but I am a little bit nervous. Gotta beat the Kelly/Lynn duo at least once because I doubt Wainwright sucks again like he did.

I'm so ready for this game! Good luck to Boston, although without Napoli it won't be easy.

I'll be at Game 4, so please, no. I'm hoping for Cardinal wins in Game 3,4,and 5. As every Cardinal fan should be.

C'mon Zoop you're not being very faithful.

Why? The most exciting play in sports is a pitcher squaring up for a bunt!

I think the ball might have hit a bird. One fluttered down to the ground behind Ellsbury.

Scary to think if the Sox lose tonight, their season rests in the hands of someone who missed the summer because he picked up his kid wrong
