Sparkle packs instead of redemptions?

I got this sinking feeling regarding non-auto case hits from Panini. I think it will be like the Fleer liquidation, where all of their super rare cards wound up having triple the print run with the withheld replacements circulating after the fact, dwindling the value of it all. Panini isn't long for this world with every license going bye-bye.

I called panini this morning on my Cody Rhodes prizm auto redemption. They offered me 2022 Prizm NBA, 2023 Mosaic football, or 2024 mosaic football sparkle packs in exchange. I asked about replacement cards and he said he didn’t really have anything on hand that matches that value. Took my sparkle packs. Beats the 150 points they once gave me for a jimmy butler redemption. Won’t forgive them for that one.

I called back about my Alexa Bliss auto. I had already asked for a Steph Curry substitute a few months ago. Today I was told they could only give me a non-auto numbered Curry.

I don’t want panini baseball products. I dont care for basketball. There’s no wrestling available. So now what???

I was never into panini. Mostly because of redemptions. But, damn it, I enjoyed the retail boxes of WWE Chronicles and I made myself get two hobbies of the product.

After this fiasco, I don’t think I’ll ever buy a panini hobby. Sure they won’t miss me, but I just threw my money away on a box that guaranteed two autos. And of course, there nothing I can do about it.

Sparkle packs OR try your luck with another rep on the phone.

Before I got my Cody kaboom I was explicitly told by other reps that they didn't have ANYTHING WWE related to give me. For months they tried to give me sparkle packs (and one of my redemptions was a Triple H/Steph immac) so...it really does vary based on who you speak to which is unfortunate.

I feel your pain I got jipped an auto from Chronicles, wasn’t even worth it to me to waste time on postage sending all the info they require to prob get a Molly Holly back worth less than sending them the info. Never bought Chronicles again any sport.

Can always try getting a black box if someone on here you trust is going and you send them the redemption. While optimistic I doubt you’ll get the Lalo treatment as that was prob unique due to the value of all the cards involved. As I said before they prob considered that better than multiple black boxes where as yours they can eventually just say ok here’s sparkle packs as one Alexa isn’t worth near multiple Cody’s plus a Steph/HHH

After two years and countless phone calls, I finally received replacements for my Chronicles Triple H & Revolution Rhea Ripley autographs. I didn’t want sparkle packs and requested Miami Dolphins cards. While I would have preferred the two wrestling autos, overall I am pretty happy with these.

That just shows with persistence and luck (getting the right person), Panini can be pretty flexible to fulfill your requests so specifically. I wish I knew the magic series of things to do in order to get the right help but I'm glad it worked out for you.

Alright, you inspired me to consider NFL.

I called up Panini and asked for an Eli Manning patch auto and it was available. 2023 /25, I’ll take it. I feel like that’s a very good trade-off.

Adding two more cents to this, I had an open Lex Luger Three Count auto/mem redemption that I called about last week and asked for a replacement. Got the standard “give us a few of your favorite wrestlers and we’ll see what we can do” response. Received notification via email this week that they replaced it with an Immaculate Sheamus auto #/25 and it was already shipped. He wasn’t one of the names I gave the rep, however, value wise it’s pretty close to a Luger sticker auto.

So they must still have some wrestling cards left somewhere in their inventory for replacements.

Morale of the story is redemptions suck and shouldn’t be in products.

Screw the sparkle packs. I’m loving this Eli Manning. It was hard waiting for a Becky Lynch for this long though. The biggest seller is that Becky’s autograph is quite lazy while Eli’s can be read by anyone.

Here’s a positive story. I’m waiting on a 2024 select ringside oba Femi auto non numbered, maybe $30-40 auto, weird it’s one of those autos that has some live on release and some redemption. So 120 days was up over month ago, I asked for a replacement when it prompted after the 120 days hit. Messaged panini thru the app on who I collect. No reply thru the month. Today was off from work, gave them a call around 730am west coast time. Got thru under a minute. Talked to a nice lady didn’t caught her name. Strikes up a nice conversation after she got the redemption # and a little bit of my info. She asked who I collected gave 3 female wrestlers and a male name. She asked about nba gave her a couple names but panini ain’t going to give me a curry or kobe auto. lol then she sent over my request. I figured I’m still going to be waiting awhile for the replacement. To my surprise I get a replacement/tracking email an hour after I got off the phone with her. So my replacent is going to be a 2022 select signatures Liv Morgan auto tie dye /25. It’s was one of the names I gave her. I’ll take it.

This is all so weird. If they have wrestlers lying around, why won’t they share that list? Why make us go through so many hoops when there’s something comparable lying around?

And I’m very pleased with how my replacement worked out, but the first name I thre out was Curry and I was rejected. I didn’t even want Curry! I only said that because my gf is a Curry fan. In my opinion, just my own, an Ei Manning is better than Curry and an equal to Alexa Bliss.

Liv Morgan over Oba Femi is a grand slam home run.

Keep calling until you get a friendly and helpful rep. Some people are told "no wrestlers are available, just other sports" some are told "here are sparkle packs" but others have been able to give a list of wrestlers and players from other sports and gotten what they asked for. It just seems like the key is getting a useful customer service person on the right day. But I'd start with calling Panini and seeing what they say, and be ready with what your preference is (either other wrestlers, or teams of other sports). And if you want wrestler cards as replacements I'd call them sooner than later as eventually they will run out.

A lot of people say things about friendly reps but in my opinion they were never not friendly. I feel like they have a crappy job taking calls to problems they can’t solve. I was patient. Give them options, wrestler or not. They alluded to having wrestlers but not on the Becky Lynch level. I could have settled but I wanted fairness and my reps never pushed me towards a lesser product.

So I guess my opinion is for you to think about the big picture. Think other sports if necessary and give them options. Aim for the sky.

I didn’t expect an Eli Manning but I feel like they were happy to close my ticket.

Should I even bother calling to ask what they have? For a D-von I imagine its a sparkle pack or bust.

Them asking me who I like from other sports will lead no where at that value I think. Maybe it's a wrestling specific thing but a D-von has more value to me than replacing it was a base GG Jackson Select auto even though monetarily its a wash . I dunno just thinking out loud

I am in the same boat. I have three Roman Three Count redemptions outstanding. What's the story with him? Is he ever going to sign?

Nope. Wrestlers are done signing for Panini. I just requested replacements for all of my Roman autos. Including the FOTL /8 patch auto. I’m prepared to get screwed by them.

For those still waiting/wanting replacements, my process has been documented in this thread but my recommendation is to call the number for redemptions listed on Panini's website. I would call monthly and get different answers, but I finally got my replacement when I asked specifically for "anything you have thats WWE". If you're open to NFL/NBA, also tell them that. If they say "okay ill escalate your ticket" and you dont hear back in a few days id call back and try for a different rep. Unfortunately not every rep will actually escalate the ticket for you as I learned, but I did eventually receive correspondence from panini offering me my replacement shortly after my last call with them when i was told itd be escalated.

I had three 2024-25 Prizm sparkle packs arrive today. They were for an unnumbered Cody Rhodes Chronicles auto, a Rhea Revolution Auto /49 and a Carmella auto /49. Based on ebay listings and sales, I think I can probably get $500 or $600 before fees if I sell all three packs as a lot. I think that's definitely more than the three cards would have been worth.

I still have a Triple H/Seth Rollins Passing the Torch Gold /10. I pulled that card and was devastated that it never got made. They told me to call back after nationals and I would probably get a 2024 Football hobby box for that. I will put that on Ebay and probably get around $500 before fees for it, depending on what the football product they send is.
