I posted this earlier, but this is what you "should" get in terms of color. However it's all a gamble, as I think I counted 23 that did not hit a # card. Sjys and speckles were not tracked, so I don't know if those players hit on those spots to make up for the 2 numbered misses.

So in the 41 cases you "should" hit:
1 sky
1 purple (#rd)
1 sparkle or extra sky
1 blue or better (#rd)

That’s a fair point. Also I didn’t check recent comps. These were selling quite a bit more not too long ago. My comps were just off memory, when refractors were close to 20 and base 6-10.

I also agree that anytime you buy into one of these breaks, you are buying the prospect, not the quick flip. Veen has been compared to Riley Greene (and bellinger, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves). See what those are selling for and you see the potential. Plus I suspect most people buying these top chrome spots are expecting to grade, so there’s plenty of ceiling there.

If you believe in Veen, his chrome spot is one of the best values in the draft. Pick out the best 2-3 refractor and 8-10 base to get graded 45 day. Flip the rest of the base and refractors in a couple months to get a large chunk of your money back and then you’re sitting on a dozen graded veen and a small stack of color for a great investment price.

I own the veen spot in Houdini’s 108 caser so I agree with you

and I paid a good bit more, but still happy with it. So far have a green and gold, an image variation and at least one sky blue

Congrats! Honestly- the most fun I have in these massive breaks is going through the brick of base cards to find the most pristine copies to grade.

It can be fun, but with 500 copies, also feels quite arduous

That’s why you can make a super fast first pass and toss 400 copies aside based on centering alone. Makes it a lot easier to analyze 100 cards.
