A quick Google search shows you're both right, lol. Go figure.

There are a couple members who are postal carriers. They could chime in. I know UPS service providers make 60-100K a year, I can’t see PO workers making 1/3 of that.

So my Dad sent out our Christmas card on Tuesday, 15 December from Southern NJ to Southern MD and they still haven't arrived.

My Uncle sent out our Christmas card on Wednesday, 23 December from Tampa, Florida and it arrived today; 3 days.

And I'm still waiting on a card purchase on E-bay that was mailed from CT and died in the Jersey City sorting facility around the 9th of December.

you do not have to do anything before 30 days after the original estimated delivery date.

A newly hired City Carrier Assistant makes less than $18/hr and they aren't guaranteed 40 hours per week. They also aren't a "career" employee that earns sick leave, pension, Thrift Savings Plan, health insurance, etc.

I'm a full time regular so I'm guaranteed 40 hours plus have all the benefits. I've been with USPS for 16 years so I'm at the top step for pay and I make $65k/year before OT.

Absolutely not true. Buyers can open cases up well before that. Buyers have up to 30 days past the delivery date to open a case, but they can do it will before then. If you don't respond it will automatically go as a win for the buyer.

To answer the OP .... I'm still buying. Not selling however. Too long a process, and not everybody is honest.

I received cards a few days ago that are still "tracked" in Harrisburg PA for 2 weeks.

Respond with shipping info in a few days along with note that USPS is running 1-2 weeks behind. Buyers can open cases 10 days after purchase and it can be escalated to eBay after 10 days which then makes a decision. Right now eBay isn’t ruling in favor of the buyer until almost at the 30 day mark. Just search ‘intercept’ by USPS about having your item stopped and rerouted back to you.

I’d guess the eBay buyer knows this and hopes the card isn’t delivered before 30 days so he gets a free card. The USPS delay is being abused by some eBay buyers.

***if you do not respond to your case on eBay it will be an automatic win for the buyer, so make sure to respond with the requested time frame.

Just curious, what is the buyer’s eBay ID?

Ebay just ruled in favor of the buyer for a package i shipped on the 9th. They have taken $325 out of my account and package still shows as "in transit".
I called and Ebay said once the package shows as delivered to call them back up and they will reimburse me the money they took.
They know that mail is slow and was hoping they would just give more time for
deliveries but will chekc back with them once it is updated to delivered.
Odd thing is this package was only going about 50 miles away.

Pretty sure USPS lost one of my packages. Shipped on 16th, hit Philly Distribution Center, and then only an update on the 20th (in transit, arriving late). No more updates.

Didn't think anyone could be worse than the US Postal Service but FedEx is probably as bad, if not worse. "Their" tracking says my package arrived. It didn't. No deliveries were made to my house that day so wherever it was delivered it wasn't my house. Filed a claim. Denied today because the driver said the package was delivered to my house. It was pouring rain that day so they would have had to of come right up to the door, which I kinda would have noticed given I worked all day about 4 feet from my front door. Luckily the place I bought from believed me and are replacing the item. FedEx sucks though. End of my rant.

From what I’ve been seeing and reading there seems to be lots of thieves working within FedEx. Luckily the seller believes you otherwise you’d be out of luck. Ups has been pure incompetence for me the last year or so. USPS has been Ok but I know I’m the exception. So whoever you choose it’s a roll of the dice. I guess we have to gas up our cars and make our own deliveries.

Yup, from now on it's signature confirmation on anything FedEx (if I cannot avoid them completely). You know it's bad when their rejection letter doesn't even have a number you can call. There is usually something for you to talk to an actual human.

My last outstanding package was in the mailbox December 12. Scanned by my local PO yesterday.

timely

I'm gonna give it another week or two and resume B/S/T activities then.

Here’s a fun one. Priority Mail “2 Day”. Mailed November 30. Buyer filed claim on December 14 and money was put on hold. Finally delivered yesterday and money was automatically released thankfully. So there is hope my friends.

I dropped off a package on the 12th. The buyer notified on the 22nd the package hasn't been scanned since "accepted" by USPS. I went to the post office and was told the package is in a USPS facility and should scan "soon."

It's now the 28th and still no scan.

The buyer has been patient and we agreed to wait until Friday before I refund the purchase. I have little hope at this point. I've had a couple instances where the package didn't move for a couple weeks but this is the first time the package is MIA from the drop off location.

Anyone else have a similar situation? It makes me question if I even dropped off the package (even though I know I did). I am losing my sanity over this.

It's a $200 - nothing major but still stinks.

Also - on a tangent note - I was shipping a pretty expensive card last week and was trying to avoid USPS because of all the delays and since the buyer used a PO, one way or another the USPS was going to be used. That was frustrating.

Did you have insurance on it? If it was "accepted" by USPS, then that means they had it and they scanned it. Now it's on USPS to deliver it. If USPS doesn't hold up their end of the deal, then you claim the insurance money. If you dont have insurance then your just SOL

This came from a retailer this morning, take it with that warning. I was told the Philly distro center was hit pretty bad with covid so there is little to no movement there.

Philly, Atlanta, Phoenix, SoCal, and Michigan seem to be the places hit hardest. Atlanta and Phoenix I personally know take an extra week each, had several cards get hung up, took 4 weeks from drop off at USPS to delivery (Nov 23rd - Dec 23rd)

Hopefully the majority of packages have been shipped and now they’ll be caught up soon. I hope.

I've got a card that has been stuck at the DC distribution center since Dec 10th.

Looks like that is one of the problem areas....

I can confirm from experience there are big delays with both Baltimore and DC so just give them some time and hopefully everything works out!

I think stuff is starting to shake out. I got the 5 oldest things (late November/early December) on my eBay list in the mail today.
