Maybe a delay is due to the rumors that they are reprinting more optic for release on july 1st at Walmarts.

They’re probably just trying to parcel things out a little better. No sense in releasing every remaining product at once, might as well spread them out so they all get enough attention at release.

EDIT - also, I think July 3rd was the original release date prior to any COVID shutdowns, so maybe they tried to push to keep that date but eventually realized they couldn’t catch up quickly enough. IMO they should put some resources into filling redemptions instead of pushing out so many new releases.

100% agree. But where's the money in that?!?!

But seriously, they must be so far behind.

This whole "reprinting Optic" thing is perplexing. Would they really do that? If so, why not re-print prizm too? I don't get it. And wouldn't that also mess up their print runs (the numbered cards)?

I don’t believe for a second that they are reprinting Optic. Why would they go back and reprint a product that makes them no greater margin than whatever retail release is next?

As for redemptions, I saw someone post a Luka Immaculate redemption mailday on IG yesterday. So maybe they have started fulfilling again.

Chronicles is going to be HOT. I imagine they are probably planning to ramp up production with basketball starting back up too.

Chronicles pushed back to 7/31. They shifted a lot of calendar around. Spectra 7/1, Chronicles Draft FB 7/10, Obsidian BKB 7/15, etc

of course optic is not getting reprinted! people who think optic is getting reprinted are the same people who think astronauts never walked on the moon.

BlowoutBuzz has it for July 31st, that's where I usually go to see release dates.

I concur. No reason for it. Still, it is odd that we're seeing Optic product again. Perhaps they held some back...

There’s no chance they’re re-printing Optic. They probably just have some stock that hasn’t been put out in stores yet, happens all the time. I remember when Optic originally came out and I was looking for it everywhere and striking out, just about every Walmart I went to had new fat packs of 18-19 Hoops that hadn’t been there before. I think I picked up something like 45 fat packs at all those Walmarts in one day.

I don’t even really care when Chronicles releases, I just hope I can find something in stores, because from Prizm to Optic to Mosaic I found less and less each time. I found a good amount of Prizm within the first few weeks of release, then Optic I only found it in stores once (although I did get some online from both Target and Walmart). And with Mosaic, I never found anything. I’m not feeling good about my chances of finding Chronicles.

Theres no way there reprinting Optic, Numbered cards would not allow it.

Agree, but I don't think Wamart Megas had any #ed cards, so they could actually do it with these if they wanted to.

I agree as well that it makes no sense...just what I've seen people posting about in fb groups and someone posted a memo from MJ Holdings stating that optic would be reprinted and released back out in Walmarts on July 1st. If true, Panini has some major ethics issues.

I wouldn't mind it being delayed. Tired of looking for product to rip since December then going through the shortages of basic items when covid came along. I wouldn't be surprised if optic is reprinted since they were selling blasters from their site for $50. Greed is quite contagious. Be careful out there!

Due to shutdown they’re already behind on tons of releases and we’re starting to see releases pile up on top of one another. Why would they go backwards and fire up the press for a mini run of an older, lower margin product, and only give it to Walmart?

More likely story is a warehouse stash was uncovered, I’d even hear out a conspiracy theory that employees hid it / held it back and got caught. All the backdoor stories DID make it back to the higher levels which is why you started seeing limit policies at Target etc

Shocked it wasn't already. Basically double your money every product. How was there not a limit in place by now.

Are you saying that every store will limit customers to how much they buy?

NO, If you had accounts with distribuetors for Retail they are going to start Alocating how much you can buy case wise. We bought a lot of cases of Retail. Now for instance we can only get 1 Cello Case and 3 Blaster cases of Chronicles Football. I can understand the way products have exploded lately.

Hmm - I wonder if that means more product in the retail stores or if it means Panini will sell retail boxes at 5x MSRP on their own site.
