This team sucks. And with Judge out (even though he's been on a downward spiral) they are nowhere near a play off team.

Good job Jazz. Yankee baseball at it's best.

Jones was out of last nights game due to back spasms. This doesn't call for a ringing endorsement to have him come up right now.

If they have any intentions of trying to move him in a trade they would be wise to keep him in AAA until the deadline is passed. No reason to call him up before that and risk him struggling and losing value.

Any trade involving Jones, at this point, would have to be one that caused a drastic jump on seismograph. I just don't see it happening.

Holy crap, they actually won!

Nice to see McMahon get off to a good start as a Yankee.

Yeah, this team acts like they are poor. Two trades and two guys that stink offensively to add to the rest of the lineup that can't hit after the 1st 3 batters. Way to go Cashman.

I kept expecting the relievers to blow this one, but they didn't.

The Yankees are so poor at developing players, they should trade everyone that even shows any potential. I'm not convinced Jones is the second coming of Judge and he's going to be a huge K machine in the lineup. Volpe and Dominguez have been busts like most Yankee prospects. I say trade them all and get better veteran players.

I can understand that decision in the middle of the season where he hasn't worked on it recently. But, this should serve as a wake up call that they might have to explore that option sooner rather than later.

Everyone plays out of position anyway.

I've said that prior to the beginning of this season that to keep Judge healthy as he gets older and with the departure of Rizzo, they should move him to first base like the Phillies did with Harper. They will have another opportunity this coming off season unless they plan on making Rice the everyday first baseman next year.

Late response.

The narrative is changing around the impact that hitting at Coors for 81 games has on a hitter. Most people believe that it helps (which it does...at Coors), however, the bad might outweigh the good.

At Coors, pitches don't move as much...THAT is the real advantage. So if you play half your games there, you get used to the "easy" pitching, especially after a long homestand. So when you go out on the road, pitches are automatically nastier.

Now take it a level deeper. Imagine you're facing against a division rival at Coors. You scout him and see his pitches and perhaps you even do well. However, the next time you face him away from Coors, you can't take any of that experience with you. You have to forget about it because it will most likely not accurately reflect what you'll face. How is a hitter supposed to adjust to that?

Now, I'm also NOT saying McMahon is going to blow us away and become a stud. I still think he's a defense first guy. But perhaps those Home and Away splits can move closer together and hopefully he can benefit from that consistency.

I would trade Jasson and Volpe before Jones.

Problem is, you'd be an idiot to take Volpe. At this point, he is a zero tool player.

I picked up the CC Sabathia HOF Topps Now card yesterday. I also moved his autographed baseball from my "Yankees" area to the "Hall of Fame" area on my shelving. Ichiro too.

The Yankees reported Luis Gil is going to pitch around 75 pitches in today's rehab start and if everything goes well, he'll be back pitching with the team this Sunday against Miami.

Yeah, another error by Volpe results in the Yankees being down 2 - 0 already in the 1st.
