The fact ANYONE in the "news" is STILL using this model, is a joke.

Somehow, America is going to see more than double the amount of deaths in half the time.

Somehow, Sweden will double their death toll, when they have averaged about a death or two a day, for a month now.

I have a few sources (anonymous, of course) that say Trump hates anyone that posts on the Blowout Forums.

It's true.

They don’t want to face the inevitable backlash of the BO mob.

NEW, @JenGriffinFNC
confirms former Trump admin official confirms details in The Atlantic story, including quotes about veterans. When the President spoke about the Vietnam War he said, “It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker.”

Per @JenGriffinFNC
: This former official heard the President say about American veterans: “’What’s in it for them? They don’t make any money?’ It was a character flaw of the President: he could not understand why someone would die for their country, not worth it.”

MORE from @JenGriffinFNC
Regarding the President’s July 4th military parade planning, during a planning at White House after seeing the Bastille Day parade in 2017, the President said regarding the inclusion of “wounded guys” “that’s not a good look” “Americans don’t like that.”

Also from @JenGriffinFNC
: re John McCain, “the President just hated John McCain. He always asked, ‘Why do you see him as a hero?” Source confirmed POTUS did not want flags lowered but others in the White House ordered them at half mast. There was a stand off, President relented.

Per @JenGriffinFNC
, this is all acccording to a former senior Trump administration official who was in France travelling with the President in Nov 2018.

AND, per @JenGriffinFNC
former official said re: the French trip to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I: “The President was not in a good mood. Macron had said something that made him mad about American reliability and the need perhaps for a European army...

“...He questioned why he had to go to two cemeteries. ‘Why do I have to do two?’ His staff explained he could cancel, l but he was warned, ‘They (the press) are going to kill you for this’.” He (The President) was mad as a hornet when they did.” Per @JenGriffinFNC

And yet he's at 80% or better support among active military. Go figure.

False,

I have a relative that works at West Point and it's very very mixed right now.

To be fair the Vietnam war was stupid but that still doesn’t give someone the right to dodge the draft by fleeing to Canada, pretending to have heels spurs or pylonidal cysts or give sexual favors to the University of Michigan football doctor.

Ohhh, OK then. I'll disregard a national poll in favor of your anecdotal claim.

Which poll are you referring to?

Honestly, I’ve only looked quickly because 80% seemed high

Guys, this is not how you frame data in an unbiased manner. Everyone is cheering the fact that "93% of BLM protests weren't violent!" But let's take a look at the data...

"US Crisis Monitor Releases Full Data for Summer 2020" - ACLED
Since 26 May, the day after George Floyd was killed by police, ACLED records over 7,750 demonstrations associated with the BLM movement across more than 2,440 locations in all 50 states and DC:
  • The vast majority of these events — more than 93% — involve non-violent demonstrators.
  • Approximately 9% of all demonstration events associated with the BLM movement — or nearly one in 10 events — have been met with intervention by police or other authorities.
  • Of these interventions, government personnel used force in more than half — at least 54%.
  • Authorities have also targeted journalists covering BLM demonstrations: ACLED records over 100 events of government violence against the media during demonstrations in 31 states and DC.
The BLM movement has prompted a series of counter-protests, and many have turned violent:
  • Since May, over 360 counter-protests have been reported around the country. Of these, more than 40 — nearly 12% — turned violent.
So......

- 7% is a small number when it comes to describing how many BLM protests turned violent.

- 11% is big number when it comes to describing how many counter protests turned violent.

- 9% is supposed to be a disturbing number when it describes how many BLM protests saw police intervention, even though we've already been told that 7% turned violent. And the added fact that only 4.86% of BLM protests saw the government deploy force means that roughly a third of the violent BLM protests saw the government still refuse to use force.

- According to their data, only 1.2% of the protests featured the media (loosely defined) encountering any kind of government force.

- If 93% is framed as "the vast majority" when discussing peaceful BLM protests, then we can also say that the "vast majority" (~89%) of counter protests have also been peaceful. But that's clearly not how things are being framed here...

Have we lost all ability to process information?

Clearly one not nearly as openly biased as a glaringly liberal leaning, progressive anarcho-collective like the Military Times.

If the 2016 to 2020 flip isn't glaring, there is no hope for some to understand.

Surely, an "okay, yeah but..." is coming to explain.

With Fox News confirming at least some of the quotes, it's looking more and more like Trump said what the Atlantic article reported he said.

Here is my good faith question to Trump supporters: suppose he did say the quotes attributed to him; does it change your support for him? Why or why not?

Side note - I hope everyone is going to have a safe and happy long Labor Day weekend!

Maybe. But reading that article, it almost seems as though the military times themselves don’t believe the results. They spend half the article backtracking and apologizing for what the results of the poll are.
