Ericsson is one of the companies mentioned in Clinton Cash. Their CEO stepped down shortly after the video came out. I'm sure this is just a big coincidence, just like Mr. Khan's doings..

Whats crazy is that now we can talk about politics, this thread makes me no longer want to talk about politics. It has gotten cluttered up by a very passionate few.

I thought I would like this, I dont enjoy it.

Maybe this thread was a mind trick....

Unfortunately talking politics is a vicious never ending circle. No one ever changes their opinion so its basically a pissing match.

yeah, not many comments of value. just rehashing stuff you'd see on the tv and some paranoia stuff like dinesh d'souza which is mostly garbage.

This thread is the perfect microcosm for the country. Nobody is wants to admit that their side is imperfect. It's all the other side's fault. My candidate is infallible. Your candidate is crooked and going to get us all killed. So on and so forth. I feel like the smartest people in the country used to go into politics to help. Now, they stay out. Whether it's money or not wanting to be publicly humiliated, I feel like we are left with the table scraps.

Either way, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Our politicians are a reflection of us. We fight and disagree and call each other names and now look, our two top Presidential candidates are doing the same thing.

I hope that no matter what, this thread remains forever. Hopefully one day we can point back and say, "Wow, look at how much arguing we did. We could have been working on solutions and compromising all that time." I still have faith people will come around. I think the internet has given extremists an avenue to put out their opinion. They think because they have the avenue, well, they must be right. I dunno. I love the internet, but sometimes I wonder if we would might be better off without it. Probably not, still, something to ponder.

The issue with compromise is that neither side wants to budge. They all want their base to reelect them the next term. They know, especially Republicans, that if they step out of party line, they'll be slammed in the next primaries. Term limits would go a long way to fixing that.

With term limits, legislators have an expiration date. When you know how long you have to accomplish your ideals, you have to show progress towards that ideal/goal. In the current situation, you have legislators that know they aren't getting kicked out of office no matter what they do. You have legislators that spend 40-50 years in Congress. WHY?!?!?! It's not like they're making Earth shattering policy changes in that tenure. Shorten up the timeline. Make these clowns do their job and get out. There is no good explanation for guys like John Dingell, Robert Byrd, Charlie Rangel, Strom Thurmond, and so on. The only thing those guys are known for are their tenure or scandals. If we want to really get rid of the road blocks in Congress, we need term limits.

Agree 100%. Four terms for the House, two for the Senate, boom.

She had to cheat to beat non-Dem Sanders in her own Party. Libertarian Gary Johnson is about to pass her in real voter support. Despite what fanatics and puppet media want you to believe, she has no chance, and wikileaks will finish her off long before November

Those aren't unreasonable numbers by any estimation. 8 years in the House. 12 years in the Senate. That's what most Presidents/Governors get. Hell, if you're successful, that could translate into 20 years in Congress. It truly baffles me how anyone could be opposed to that plan. Well, anyone that isn't running for public office. I can completely understand why the reps want it. I'd love to work a job like that. Show up intermittently. Glad hand a bunch of donors while eating surf & turf. Hell, most of the House reps spend more time trying to get reelected than they actually worry about making policy.

I agree. No more than 20 years total.

Our wonderful congressman Steve King finally had someone challenge him in the Primary. Rick Bertrand and King were basically the same as far as views go but Rick wanted term limits. Steve King has been a do nothing congressman since day one and I was really hoping Rick would win. But of course the extreme conservatives of Western Iowa prevailed and King won the primary.

Yes....I posted frequently when this thread started. As stated, I no longer want to discuss politics after partaking in the early going. While you are sitting doing nothing, which appears to be often, let me know how many of those 97 have come in the last 5 days.
