Much like Elimination Chamber from WWE, this was a predictable PPV, but still had some good matches. A few were skippable for me, but thats the case on every event. My main gripe is that Bryan Danielson loses too many big matches. I knew he wasnt beating Kingston for those belts, but I'd really love to see him won some kind of title at some point. And the ROH fan in me wants Danielson/Joe again

I felt like Jim Cornette at some points, almost yelling at the clouds over Takeshita/Ospreay hitting a huge move and the guy just bouncing off the ropes and hitting another huge move, and Sting's final match being a hardcore match with glass spots. Then I snapped out of it and remembered it's sports-ENTERTAINMENT, and Ospreay prob had the most entertaining match and Sting going out how he did was also exciting, more exciting than a 30 min time-limit draw with Ricky Steamboat. I will say though, I am SHOCKED they used real glass, I know it was likely a shot at Punk but when Sting broke the one pane with his bat I said ok this has to be fake as it was a foot from the barricade and I was thinking they won't risk glass flying in the crowd, injuring some kid and killing AEW. Then Darby goes through and you see his back and I'm like OK AEW is just nuts lol, I wouldn't of cared if I was there unless I had a kid that got upset or something but you can see in the corner some front row fans checking themselves for glass not looking super pumped lol James Storm's bottles always had good consistency and were realistic so I just assumed it was something similar to that.

Mercedes can't get there soon enough, Deonna isn't over at least in NC at ALL, and Mercedes is prob the only one over enough to not have Toni cheered/liked because the gimmick is entertaining, if you put Storm against Statlander for example it would be the same thing. I just hope they wait a BIT to put the title on her, unless Britt is coming back there aren't enough strong heel challengers, Mariah will prob feud with Toni when she loses and we don't need a random Thunder Rosa heel turn right now or her defending against Abadon and Nyla Rose.

Guess now the question is, who will win the Tag Team Title Tournament when it starts?

Is it official that they are vacating and Darby isn't just getting a new partner?

Like I said in my last post, yesterday was the first time I've paid attention to AEW for like two months.

I'd be fine with that. Maybe Outside chance of Moxley & Claudio, just because Moxley rarely loses....

Yep sic of Moxley because of that. When the guy losses 1 or 2 times a year you get sick of him.

I agree with that. It's weird how Bryan doesnt have any issues putting guys over and he's so much better than Moxley, but they protect Moxley all the time. I get he's a star from his WWE days, but damn he can afford a loss here and there

Bryan seems in Cena mode late in career he decides it's not about him but getting other guys over. Moxley still wants himself to go over and bury everyone under him.

Yeah, Tony announced in the press conference after-show they are vacating and doing their own version of "March Madness" tourny to crown new champs. Guessing that means it'll be a large field with possibly some odd-ball teams but who knows, they do have a large tag division if they use everyone.

I can see it being FTR and Moxley/Claudio in the finals with FTR finally going over on them.

^ That would be a good finals although I would expect The Bucks to get to the finals at least so maybe swap one of those teams with them.

I agree it is annoying Mox can rarely lose. I am a big fan of Claudio though so I wouldn't mind if he got another tag title reign to his resume (first time with the AEW Tag Titles). So how about we swap out Moxley for Bryan as Claudio's partner? That would be an upgrade. And Bryan should have won a title in AEW by now for sure. There are only like 13 titles he can go after so it's odd he hasn't got one yet. Plus Moxley has got a lot already. Bryan needs more love not him...

Oh ok. Thanks for the info. I didn't get around to watching the post PPV press conference this time.

Besides that news was it notable and or worth watching?

Saw this on Twitter. So Mox doesn't always win when it matters the most (PPVs)

Jon Moxley is 2-7 in his last 9 ppvs. Put over Punk, Max, Hangman, Elite, OC, Fenix*, Jay, Eddie, not to mention a bunch of trios including FD and All In.

Moxley's last 3 PPV wins before Sunday night's PPV

vs OC at All Out 2023
vs The Elite at DoN 2023
vs Tanahashi at Forbidden Door 2022

OSpreay Takeshita is easily my MOTY so far, I was absolutely blown away. Felt like watching the future of wrestling, and it's a crime Takeshita doesn't have a belt yet. Bryan Eddie was also great but can echo everyone else's frustration that Bryan seems hell bent on never winning another title. Also I don't think my mind is ready if we finally get Bryan OSpreay this year.

This is definitely what they're going for. Maybe the Bucks will take the belts off of FTR eventually.

Wouldn't mind that final but with Young Bucks screwing FTR and re-igniting their feud. Bucks are so hated and FTR so loved I think it would have some real heat, especially if they screw them just as they are finally about to beat Mox/Claudio. Mox/Claudio just destroy lower teams like Private Party/Workehorsemen weekly, beat some bigger teams at PPV's (Hardy's?) then FTR work their way back and win, maybe with Bucks trying again but stopped by Kenny or Hangman.

The PPV was awesome if you just wanted some pizza and beer… that’s all I cared about

4 hours flew by

I’m a casual fan

I can’t speak for you hardcore ones but reminded me of all early WWF where it was just entertaining if mindless

The Toni Storm segment of any post-presser is must-see for me but that's all I'd say unless you need a Ricky Starks update (he's injured) or want to hear Sting's final final words (he didn't say anything noteworthy)

Just saw that.

I didn't see the match but apparently he didn't stop attacking Jeff when he was injured?

Why didn't the ref stop him?

It seems like the ref should be in trouble too.

FWIW, Cash has a court case for the gun charge from last August coming up. Might be why Mox/Claudio beat FTR on Sunday in case Cash has to go off tv for a while.

Fletcher and Osprey just putting on a PPV quality match on a random Wednesday night. I'm so happy Osprey signed with AEW.

Weird timing since he had at least 1 more match after the incident

He was suspended for not following protocols, after the obvious botch he did his finisher..which is effectively a GTS/knee to the head...not good to do right after someone was legit knocked out

And yes, ref should definitely get some blame as well
