Williams gets a gift as O’hoppe swings at a 3-0 pitch and pops out foul to Peraza to end it Book It!!!! 3-2 Yankees win but Williams failed the audition to get the closer spot back. Good Night Folks.

Soon as Moncada hit that bomb I knew it was going to be a struggle. At least they got the win and maybe it showed Boone you can’t trust Williams for the 9th. Heck with the way Williams lets teams comeback the rules committee might change it from 3 to 4 runs to qualify for the save.

That's what happens when Boone overuses Weaver. You have to go to Williams and he clearly doesn't have his closer mentality this year. He's been great lately in the other innings, but when you put him in a save opportunity, he is going to pieces.

Yes he really didn’t need to use him in the 5-1 game. Williams no matter what team he is facing has a mental block about the 9th inning.
