I think you should have refunded before eBay stepped in and forced it.....I am under the impression that if eBay forces the refund it can have an effect on your selling metrics.

This is correct.

You should've refunded the buyer directly and then filed the PIP claim.

Can you post the usernames so we can add to our block lists?

I see I now have 2 "Defects" on my eBay sellers page. I ship hundreds of ESE envelopes each year. I've not had a missing envelope for a year until I had 3 within the same week. Two of the refund requests show the envelope was delivered to the correct address. I entered the tracking number and eBay found in my favor. Should I have refunded these buyers? The other refund request came from a buyer who purchased 3 cards together, then an additional card. I printed labels before I realized that I could have combined shipping, so I remember this transaction well. Neither envelope got any tracking other than "label created".

My take for the future is to go ahead and refund and file for PIP insurance after 15 days for envelopes that do not show delivery. For envelopes that do show delivery, even though buyer claims they don't have the cards, enter the tracking and let eBay make a decision.

Is this the way to go?

Yes...exactly. You can wait to refund until the last day before eBay forces it....with any luck that will get you within the 15 day waiting period and you can refund and file on the same day.

Typically I refund even if it shows delivered. Especially if they are good about communicating. I know from experience buying that every now and then one will show delivered and not show up.

PIP will not refund you if it shows as delivered, so those one I usually don't refund. Up to you how you want to handle those. You are not required to refund.

That has not been my experience in the past.

Me neither.

The only time I've had issues is when it shows delivered after I refund. If it shows delivered before the buyer sends a message, I've been refunded.

Only the buyers that reach out. You cant babysit every tracking number, that's a waste of time.

I have recently started using the ebay PWE for smaller $ sales. What a great thing.

I have alos had two items out of 35 returned for: Insufficient Address, Unable to forward when the address is the one the seller gave and there is nowhere to forward to.

Is this a PO thing where they are not making the effort to deliver or something? Any one know?

this happens occasionally...i just reprint the label or peel the sticker and resend...the second time it usually gets there

I had been having good luck getting tracking all the way through the shipment, including push notifications when the orders get delivered. Then, had a couple not even get a delivery scan and of course the buyers are reaching out. This is on a low volume of items.

Oddly one was from mid September where I sent several in a batch. The others all got scans and were delivered.

I actually had one last week that showed delivered and then showed up back in my mail as returned could not deliver.

USPS can be funky with marking as delivered.

Shipping a single card saver in a #10 envelope is it better to place it in the center or on the left side opposite the postage end of the label?

When I use a #6 or #10, I always place my card saver all the way to the right underneath the postage amount. At the beginning of the ESE program I had a few returned to me because the edge of the envelope folded up and over.....with the edge of the card saver firming up the end of the envelope I have never had one returned.

Ha, of course the only option I hadn't considered. That does make perfect sense though. Now I have a follow up that might be a stupid question. Top or bottom edge of the card saver against the edge of the envelope when placed this way?

Top....less of a lip for the sorting machine to navigate. I use a One-Touch Resealable Bag to put everything into instead of any kind of tape. Should the card slip towards the opening there is nothing sticky for it to touch.

I cut up cereal boxes or cracker boxes or whatever to the envelope size and blue tape the semi-rigid to the back so the front is completely flat. I blue tape the semi's lip, and then tape the sides to the box piece around the center area
