I think everything is in comparison... As a card collector I could agree /8k seems like a lot considering how in most sets, the more valuable cards are usually #d to a few hundred or less, but what are the base cards #d to? A few 100k? A mil?

Maybe I’m just overly optimistic, but personally, I can’t help but put this set in a category of its own and assuming we don’t see any more crazy high PRs, cards 61-110ish would kinda be like this sets “commons”, selling for at or below the $15-20 price point. If cards 1-60 hold their value at 10x-100x cost, my hunch is that cards with PRs in the 3-6k range should hold value over MSRP. No?

They aren't lurking. They're just stuck around page 700 still awestruck by the Griffey Shore phenomenon.

Good point, they're probably catching up.

This thread has Tolstoy density.

Having seen the big cards in this set ($200+) get increasingly out of my price range and getting increasingly concerned they will stay that way, I grabbed a Shore McGwire today at what I thought was a decent price. Big gulp factor for me, but my biggest purchases recently (Chang Gibson, JK5 Ichiro, x2 Baller Thomas) all being up 50%+ from my purchase price gave me the confidence to go bigger. Here's hoping I'm right, but not too right as I need time to grab the Shore Mattingly + Gibson, Siff Brett, Naturel Robinson and others I desperately want! The struggle is real fellas.

Congrats on a great card that sparks joy!!!

Better get that Robinson quickly...I am biased though I'd put it in my top 5.

I know the feeling - had to go back and grab a Chang Gibson and Robinson after her Henderson and Trout convinced me to do a set.

You're right, the early Shore's are Joy creators for sure! Thanks. And yeah, that Jackie sure is rising quickly....

The Chang run is super sweet! The Rivera still eludes me however....

I've noticed some ppl in here are big on stats and data, so i was hoping to share some #'s i've been putting together on cards 1-60 and get some feedback. In a nutshell, i think the data is interesting, but IDK what to make of it yet. I'm not the greatest with #'s, so I'm sure some ppl in here could make more sense of them than i can. I'd also like to see if anyone has a similar breakdown and maybe compare notes. I always appreciate other perspectives and just want to see if there's anything to these #'s or not. If you don't mind taking a look, please shoot me a PM. Thanks.

Dude who bought appears to be a multi-millionaire so it's not like he had to make a choice of 'this or that' but i agree with you.

I'm happy that he's happy and I'm happy for the seller.

But I agree, would not be on my personal list of extravagant wants.
