Mahomes had a chance to be a Russell Wilson type guy….1SB, 1Sb loss resume..I’m just glad I got in early enough to enjoy the last two SBs..definitely makes watching football when you have 100k plus into a player

Call me crazy but I think the next ten years, it’s likely chiefs, ravens, bills vs a few teams on the nfc side for SBs…assuming mahomes wins his share he should be able to accumulate 2-3 more minimum…I just don’t see any other team from the afc going toe to toe with the top 3 afc teams. Mediocre QBs will not win playoff games…Herbert n Wilson looked like crap today, Stroud simply was better but won’t get pass divisional round

Things can change quickly, but if I was an up and coming QB I'd much rather be playing in the NFC.

Ah, that is definitely a key.

I generally don't like night games up there because the salmon rush out of the stadium makes it slow to leave. I bet they're playing on Saturday.

I need something to reinvigorate my hobby juices. I was having a blast in 2018-2023 picking up Mahomes cards, but its been awhile since I've pulled the trigger on anything. I've been hitting a number of local trade shows and scroll ebay/BST, but it seems that everything is so elevated price-wise (or the condition sucks...). I imagine Brady fans went through a similar experience and its the price you pay for success. I realize this is kind of a lame complaint, as I still have my entire Mahomes collection and it has certainly elevated in value. I just miss being able to pick up cool cards for my PC on a more regular basis without feeling like I was breaking the bank. It is rewarding when you do find something though, as I am way more selective these days and it is harder to find deals. Even Kelce and Jones cards are quite elevated...Anyway, rant over.

Afternoon slot (3:30 Central Time) for the game vs Houston.

Best set up for rest advantage of the weekend.

What's nice about this game is that I feel no pressure as a fan: If the Chiefs don't win, then they weren't a Super Bowl contender anyways. The one thing I do worry about though is that this is the playoff week where there's some unexpected drama:

2019: down 24-0 vs Houston
2020: Mahomes concussion vs Browns
2021: 13 second game
2022: Sprained ankle vs Jaguars
I think 23 was pretty smooth sailing vs the Bills.

Ohhh well. Those were all wins. Here's to one week of relaxation before the week of anxiety one way or another!

Yup quality Mahomes stuff (and let's be frank...most of us are only really interested in rookies at this point) is getting MUCH harder to find. Options are drying up. People know...people know...

2018 vs Colts Divisional round
2020 vs Bills AFC Champ game(although we were down 10-0 I think, but it got easy from there, and Fisher tore his ACL)
2021 vs Steelers Wild Card round
2023 vs Miami Wild Card round

“Many”?! come on guy. Some people thought the Broncos and Chargers could contend for a division title but not many had the Raiders as being serious contenders. I’m sure if you look back they were still the favorites to win the division and even a top favorite to win the Super Bowl.

If you watched the game it was worse than the score. The texans looked downright inept at times.

I'm still having fun picking up vet paralells and inserts. Plenty of angles to go after: complete runs, great photos, color match parallels, case hit inserts, low pop PSA 10s, cards that celebrate championships/records/big moments.

I feel this big time. I think part of it for me is that my disposable income has gone way done (thank you inflation) so I don't have nearly as much fun money to just buy stuff. The other part is that I honestly just got completely grossed out by the new product in the last 2-3 years. I know there's some cool stuff there, but I just feel like there is so much absolute garbage out there. I officially became an old guy and got sickened by the over-parallelization (is that a word?) and just could not keep up or keep track of stuff. I know people said this when I rejoined the hobby back in 2010, so there is nothing new under the sun, but it is what it is. I did make a weird hobby shift to graded magazines (I know, weird) and that has been good for me, even though cards will always be my first love.

Lastly - again, as an old guy, I am nostalgic - but there was a time when you could search ebay and fairly regularly find a card you like and negotiate a little and really not have to worry about whether or not it will get snagged up (maybe even get a steal), but those days are few and far between. There are easily 10x more people scouring ebay now, and it's very very challenging to find good deals, rare cards that don't get snatched up immediately, and it's almost impossible now to buy a raw card that has any chance of becoming a 10.

I need to adapt with the times, but for now I'm okay sitting on the sidelines.

Love this. You'll do well in the long run both in enjoyment as well as a slow steady increase in value.
