So, if the Bengals win against the Broncos, the Bengals will be set up pretty nicely for the seventh seed. I know we will likely be sitting most of our starters, but feel like we should do everything in our power to let the Broncos win that final game. I do not wanna see Cincinnati in the playoffs…

Bengals would still need Indy to lose to either the Giants and Jags, and Miami to lose to Cleveland or the Jets. And even if all those things happened, the only way they could play the Chiefs is if they went ahead and knocked off the Bills (or possibly the Ravens) for us. I'm rooting for Bengals wins the next 2 weeks. It means they have the best possible record but still miss the playoffs in the year that -Burrow was healthy -Chase was cheap, and -They had a last place schedule They haven't beat a winning team all year.

Chiefs are guaranteed to the AFC champ game…as long as they don’t #@#@#@#@ the bed against winner of Texans/steeler wildcard game
Then it’s just game on vs winner of Bills/Ravens (assuming these teams take care of business in the wildcard round) The #1 seed was so vital because of this |

I see. Looks like all the games are on flex scheduling. Will be interesting to see how they sequence the games. I would still rather see the Bengals sitting at home. Crazy that they haven’t beat a winning team all year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Surprised there is no manufactured smack talking in the thread today. Was nice to see patty throw for 300+ and 3 TDs. Been too long. Feels like we are starting to click a bit better on offense.
When Humphrey is healthy, do you start him over Thuney? Seems we are getting into rhythm, but Thuney obviously preferred in guard position. Just getting no push these last several games. I think it would be good to put Humphrey out there to get some game action vs Denver to make assessment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Crazy thing is we are 3 games away from a 3 peat!!!! Man this is going to be the most anticipated playoff run ever…and it all runs through arrowhead. Cross my fingers too, but we are relatively healthy going into the playoffs

The team just won it's 3rd game in 11 days, with it's 4th left tackle of the season and Pat with a sprained ankle. On that sprained ankle Pat put up a QBR of 90.1, which tops the game a few days ago when he had a 85.1 QBR. Not only that, they won comfortably today, on the road, against a playoff team, without Chris Jones. It's the second game in a row that they never trailed, both against playoffs teams.... One of those playoff teams they're likely to play after about 23 days of rest, because they locked up the 1 seed while forcing the Ravens and Bills into the same side of the bracket. The road to the Super Bowl just got so much easier today.

Beyond the fact that we had too many stupid penalties that cost us with 3 unsportsmanlike penalties, there is nothing that would justify smack-talking. That is why I said “manufactured smack talking“. We are 15-1, but each weekly thread includes multiple pages of lame commentary about our performance. It’s refreshing to avoid that (so far) this week Feeling bullish about our chances for the 3 peat. Seems inevitable that it’s going to be Buffalo coming into town for the AFC championship game. It’s almost a given, the chiefs will be in the conference championship
Chiefs advantages over bills/ravens: Better coaches (and with post season success) More seasoned guys on the team (with playoff/SB experience) Playoff Pat (different animal) Plus chiefs don’t have mental blocks (bills suffer from playoff losses to them, Lamar has added pressure to prove himself against Mahomes and playoff performance) Both these teams have players who are not battle tested in the playoffs (nerves will come into play) |

KC wants to play Baltimore over Buffalo. Much better matchup stylistically
And it’s very likely to happen if 2 plays 3 in round two

Nothing is guaranteed. There is a reason no team has ever won 3 in a row. It isn't easy.
Yes this is looking like the best possible result which does help their chances. Not playing in an actual football game though in about a month is both good and bad. Get healthy and get rusty at the same time. But this team is experienced and has good leadership so I think they will be ready to go. They are playing well lately so it is a bit disappointing we won't see them play a meaningful game again for that long.

I do think ravens will be easier in the AFC champ game..Lamar has not shown much in the post season..having said that, I prefer chiefs Vs Bills…that game is what everyone wants to see..Superman vs Batman type of show..it’s definitely more risky match up but the ratings would go through the roof

So nice to come here and not have to maneuver through all the silly Mahomes on the way down takes. So refreshing.

Been a bit out of the loop for the thread, I'll just give some of my general thoughts over the occurrences of the last couple games.
Watching the joy in the faces of the team when Patrick and Travis came into the locker room was just a sign that these guys know exactly what kind of mission they are on, Andy Claus was the cherry on top. It wasn't elation that the season is basically over, it was joy that the 3rd biggest piece of the puzzle was taken by force on someone else's field. The league done effed up and gave a veteran group an axe to grind with the three games in 11 days shtick, they embraced the challenge and rode the storm out. Joe Thuney wasn't great against Houston or especially Cleveland, but he did enough to survive those games without giving up sacks but he was pretty darned good against Highsmith. Any idea that this team is going to be unprepared for whomever winds up in the Divisional round is ludicrous. This team has played their best ball the last three weeks and the league should be mortified.

I would not be surprised if our Chiefies pulled a 2019 divisional round 1st quarter
But I would absolutely be surprised if in the event that happens, they fail to deliver the 2nd/3rd/4th quarters from that same game.

Like, the Chiefs should completely just throw the game against the Broncos to avoid the Bengals getting into the playoffs, right? Like just hand the ball off a lot and allow a few quick TDs to the Broncos and call it a day?
