Can they just forfeit to get an early start to Baltimore.

Pretty much they have looked lifeless all day. I could put on an Astros uniform and pitch a scoreless inning against them.

I hate when the team is down by 5 runs in need of base runners and Higashioka is swinging at a 3-1 pitch and Judge has sucked all day he isn’t doing anything to make me care whether he leaves or not.

All this and we get to see Chapman too Woo-Hoo might have pitched a 1,2,3 inning if not for catchers interference..

Stanton quietly sucks.

They better hope somebody knocks Houston out before they have to play them in the playoffs. I was trying to remain optimistic but it seems like the whole team can’t hit any of Houston’s pitchers. Every time they had a chance to get closer they just sucked . The worst of the batters today were Judge and Stanton and without them why bother.

After getting swept today, George would have had Juan Soto in pinstripes before his head hit the pillow tonight…

I don’t doubt that for a minute, and if they stand pat I truly see them losing in their first playoff series regardless of who they play.

How many pitches to strike out Judge I say 5 and yes I am giving him the Gallo treatment.

Unless a major piece of Houston goes on the IL or the Yankees pick up a major upgrade at the trade deadline, there's 0% NY will get past the Astros in playoff time. Was a great season, otherwise.

The Carpenter magic might be wearing off, I was hoping he would’ve taken one more pitch and he would have walked. I wanted Stanton to have one shot at it as the go ahead run. What a depressing day. 6 of the 7 runs they scored all from home runs again, that type of offense won’t get it done.

Still 68 games left and if they keep playing like they have the past 15’games it will be far from great.

I mean, he's probably not going to be prime Barry Bonds for the whole season.

Gotta tip your cap sometimes. Montero made a great pitch, and if Bregman isn't exactly there they don't get 2. That game wasn't lost in the 9th.

No it wasn’t lost in the 9th but it certainly could’ve been more interesting had Carpenter walked. The game was lost in my opinion and I might be wrong but when Boone let German pitch to Alvarez with 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs in the second that’s when it got away. If he walks him they might have had different results with Bregman but 2_0 turned into 5-0 real quick. I don’t expect anything close to what Carpenter has been doing that is why I said the magic might be wearing off in no way am I criticizing him as he has been a great addition. The game was also lost when Judge and Stanton were sucking it up in their previous at bats.

What’s funny is the only time the Astros thread makes the first page is when they beat the Yankees that’s wonderful but I hope they realize they may never play the Yankees in the playoffs. Yes the 5-2 record against the Yankees might seem like domination to those in the Astros thread but scoring the winning run on a well placed ground ball to short after almost squandering a 2nd and 3rd with nobody out isn’t exactly domination. Game 2 scoring 5 runs off a pitcher just back from a rehab assignment and scoring the other 2 off of a pitcher who will not even be on the Yankees playoff roster isn’t exactly domination either. If anything letting the Yankees get the tying run to the plate with a 5 run lead going into the 9th inning is in fact less than dominating when the Yankees looked like crap all day.

Just too many wasted opportunities with guys on after getting in a huge hole early.

5 runs isn't bad, but it highlights the Yankees problems: 5 runs on 2 swings, and a bunch of poor hitting with RISP in between. This is why I like Benintendi so much. He could be a buffer.

Vaccinated or not I would take Benintendi in a heartbeat. The 3-2 loss in the first was another one where I didn’t agree with Boone going with King in the 9th you go with the pitcher who gives your team the best chance of getting another at bat which was Holmes. King almost got himself out of it and I don’t blame the loss on him but I would’ve liked to see Judge, Rizzo and carpenter in the 10th with the ghost runner at second.
