Agreed. There's too many mass produced RCs of Acuna. This is the perfect storm of hype and performance, and the fact that cards like US250 and Heritage, for instance, have only seen relatively small increases should be a bit concerning to those holding.

It's interesting to note how some of the Soto and Tatis guys were propping up either of those players as the next big thing in baseball after Trout. This is essentially the reason why it's not so wise to call things out like that so early on because any one of them could go on a tear and suddenly look like the new face of baseball. I would rather wait a little longer to see how each of their careers (Soto, Tatis, and Acuna) continue to pan out before having a say. I mean hell, it might not even be any of those guys. For all we know, the next face of baseball could probably be Akil Baddoo, Ke'Bryan Hayes, or Jarred Kelenic, maybe someone else.

i don't get why the chrome update isn't really making up any ground.

No it won't.

Ron y Juan is all that matters.

No offence, but I don’t really get your point here. Soto/Acuna/Tatis/Vladdy all have pedigree and were predicted to be studs. That’s pretty much how it’s playing out.

Not really Soto though. There weren't really any good predictors on how he'd turn out since he made the jump to the MLB so early on. Far as I could recall, no one was mentioning his name right alongside Acuna prior to his MLB debut at least. Or, if there were any then those people were certainly in the minority.

Yeah Soto came on kind of quick. But I added him to my dynasty team back in 2017 thinking he was going to be a stud.

Not really true. He missed most of 2017 due to injury, but had already been identified as a special bat. Was a top ~25 prospect going into 2018. That spring he destroyed the minors and the legend began.

None of that matters though. Those three guys you named are three nobodies.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but that would be a very boring collecting world for me to live in. I like collecting Marlins players, guys on my fantasy team, and just players I like in general. I’m aware that in 10-15 years from now most of those guys will be irrelevant, but it’s how I have fun collecting. If I would have focused all my collecting funds into Acuna/Soto/Tatis between 2017-2019 would my collection be worth a lot more? Heck yeah, but I’m okay with that.

Do you really on collect those two players, or do you have some other PC guys?

For me, I have more cards of Soto and Acuna than any other guys since 2018.

Who you like to collect has nothing to do with who can be the face of baseball.

I collect Soto, Buehler, and Flaherty.

That’s just it though. The entry price has been so low that it is of very little risk to hang onto them.

True.

I was bummed by Flaherty’s rough start to the season, but it looks like he righted the ship quickly.

Very nice. I’m guessing you just collected who you liked, and it also happened to be a very wise financial decision.

Just making conversation since he replied to my post that was for KhalDrogo. And now you’re replying to a post meant for Rabs, so I’ll make conversation with you.

I don’t care about which players anyone collects, but I’m sometimes curious as to the why’s. You get interesting answers sometimes.

Seriously, god forbid there be a card of a great talent that is widely available, popular and still affordable

Don’t over think it. It won’t be those that you listed. We are now years in. Soto & Acuna are still at the top. And are only getting better. And are only gaining more and more popularity.
