Can you ship ESE to Canada without paying a lot more? Got an offer on a card but he lives across the border so am hesitant to accept.

If they don’t show up, is there anything I can do on my end. The sellers obviously didn’t do anything wrong in this situation. But frustrating to be out 2 x $15 cards.

Definitely alert the seller and let them know you'll be paitent. Usually they show up in a day or two, but I've ihad t take up to a week (as a buyer).

From there, the seller can tell you to pound sand. Even then you might be able to contact eBay and they'll refund from the slush fund. As a seller, I typically refund and file the PIP claim. Have yet to be denied, so I figure the customer service is worth it.

Had a buyer file a claim after about 10 days for an ESE order. I sent a nice message about how the tracking works. About 48 hours after my message, I see today that they contacted ebay customer service and were issued a full refund because the tracking was never scanned by the post office. Now I have a negative review from them (first one on my account). Is this something I can get ebay to remove?

Oh, me, oh, my. I think I have a seller using ESE with a one touch. it hasn't moved or updated since the 12th. I already had one recently come postage due cuz the seller added a brick of cardboard and wrap to make the envelope almost 1" thick. Also keep getting them in bubble mailers here and there.

I know when I print my labels there is a long instruction manual listed on the page describing how to ship ese items.

I've got a few ESE recently in bubble mailers that showed up surprisingly without postage due. I know my local PO doesn't care, but I've had some flagged before that arrived with postage due.

Got a fun one. User jaime7569 sent me a message yesterday about a Burns RC auto 15/75 that I sold them. Said "Says being delivered for a week, still hasn't shown up" tracking agrees. I told him to open a case.

I went and checked his items for sale today.

I called him out about it in the case. I am sure he will either ignore it and hope it sides in his favor, or he will say something along the lines of "Got this mixed up with another item I bought" either way, it points to them being the type of person that goes back through all of their bought items and opens cases on items that show not delivered

Now that ESE really is almost .75 - I've been looking at adjusting my shipping on lower end stuff.

I've generally just done free shipping with a minimum item value (was $1.59) and then done quantity discounts (buy 2 get 10% up to buy 10 get 40% off).

I'm looking at changing the low end stuff to .99 and then charging the .74 shipping on the item but I can't seem to figure out how to make the combined shipping work.

If I do calculated, it's fine up to three cards at three ounces. The fourth card would make it four ounces which is outside of the program.

What is everyone else doing to combine shipping and if anyone uses the calculated option let me know what you do?

I just use flat rate shipping. I can squeeze up to about 12 cards in one PWE. If the order is too many cards or goes over $50, I just "eat" the shipping charge and upgrade to GA. By eat, I mean I jump for joy.

I'd say about 2-3 times a year I'll have a package where I get "screwed" on shipping. That is more than offset by the 1,000 times a year buyers buy multiple items and don't combine them.

You can create a "Business Policy" where eBay will add in whatever extra amount you want to charge after the first card purchased. I have added into my listings that all cards must be paid for at the same time in a single payment to receive the shipping discount.....if cards are paid for individually they will be sent individually with no discount or refund offered. Most buyers don't realize that sellers are charged a fee for each payment that they accept. eBay has made a recent change to multiple card purchases....they used to add an ounce for each card, even when paid for at the same time, and you would have to go and change the ounce amount down to 3 or less to use the ESE program. Recently I have noticed that multiple card purchases paid for at the same time are classified as 1, and I have to go in and raise the ounce rate up to 3.

Damn, that's twice in less than a year,no? Looks like they are just trying to get to the PWE First Class number while leaving it machine handled and justifying it by, "you get a tracking number with this service"

Twice a year has become the norm since about 2021.

Is it a business policy or shipping preference? I've tried messing around with both - already have business policies for shipping in place. It never mattered with free shipping but my Ground Advantage option never seems to work correctly.

I'm wondering what I was really charged on Saturday when I printed some labels. my 2oz said 1.03 on screen, but the label itself still showed .97. then printing yesterday it showed 1.03 on the label and on screen.

fwiw I've had one buyer now buy 7 cards individually instead of all or some at once for combined shipping. He buys one every other day, and it's not like I'm listing new cards, they have been up. I wonder if he even knows it's me each time or just doesn't care.

The business policy is where you state how much you charge, what kind of shipping(GA or ESE), and how much more for each extra card.

The rates changed yesterday, so what you printed on Saturday was correct for that date.

If an item gets upcharged to Ground Advantage, will it always show up postage due or can they bill the sender through eBay labels?

Just had a seller send me a sealed one touch in a bubble mailer through ESE and couldn't believe it didn't show up postage due.

I have heard it happen both ways....but I also saw in a BO thread where they delivered a PSA slab in a PWE with no additional charge.

Just want to add that there's lots of honest buyers on ebay too. Going through my orders, there's a half dozen ESE orders in the last month with zero scans, but positive feedback left from the buyers.

I remember reading here (year or so ago) that for 1 card in top loader, 3 oz was the way to go. Is this still the case you think or have folks been getting away with 2 oz or even 1 oz?

For reference I use these envelopes.
