Rolling 2023 Bowman Chrome Autograph Checklist Thread - Page 15

My 10 autos from my 2 hobby boxes and 2 HTA were unsurprisingly largely underwhelming. I like the Vargas base but the rest are all meh.

Parallels would have been awesome if they had come from 2023 Bowman (Spencer Jones and Druw Jones), 2022 Draft (Termarr Johnson) and 2022 Bowman Chrome (Cristhian Vaquero)

I’ll probably dive into a few breaks because I’m a degen, but with a checklist this deep it’s most certainly going to be a bloodbath in both breaks and personal rips. Guess that’s the way it is with all modern wax though. Boxes I’ve seen so far have been very subpar.

I thought it was the jumbo format but I didn’t realize that Hobby is now jumbo and HTA is now a breakers box.

Bowman Chrome HTA has been a 3 auto only product for a while. Jumbo only exists in Bowman Baseball and Bowman Draft.

Tracking the break prices on eBay tonight is wild, some players absolutely ballooning that I would never expect to draw attention. Going to be hard to participate anywhere on a budget considering how watered down the checklist is.

To be fair Tier None doesn't mean they'll definitely be nothing.

For instance Christian Cerda has some potential - it's just positional context that pushed him down.

Wuilfedo Antunez has things to figure out but he could get way out of Tier None still.

Was checking out the checklist on Bowman Chrome last night. Nothing wowed me in this. The Orioles and Yankees list with their young stars seem like the the teams to grab in breaks, but of course they come with a price tag. But other than that, nothing really jumps out. Going to watch some breaks today to see what cards pop up. Was watching a break this morning where they were waiting to break and he was hyping up so many prospects and all I could think was "who?".

The cards I actually most interested in seeing is the All American game signature cards. My son participated in this game in 2022, so I am interested to see how they incorporated the cards from previous games into the Bowman Chrome product.

As always, well done.

I'm sure its an unpopular opinion, but I enjoy these types of products. When you have a release with one or two huge over-hyped names, they will never live up to the hobby expectations, come out on day one overpriced and push the cost of the product through the roof.

Give me a list of the third tier guys all day and I'll gladly pick up more quantity of guys at lower prices and look for some small gains.

Anyone else noticing breaks not snap filling, and I'm talking big breakers who usually fill crazy fast, like past years and releases? Look at the lower than ever amount the player auction here went for.

Now ebay and some of the crazy prices seen on auctions is another story. I just don't understand how those go for some of the prices they go for.

2023 bowman jumbos at release - I was allowed to only buy one box at $650 (I passed). Now I can buy cases at my shop for $500/box.

2023 bowman hobby at release - $275. Now I can buy cases if I want for $200/box.

If you can resist the release prices of 2023 bowman chrome today, you will save money and you can still enjoy the boxes later.

Baseball season is almost over, many of the international signees will be dead money for the next six months - what’s the hurry?
