Sparkle packs instead of redemptions?

I was offered a 2024-2025 NFL sparkle pack for my D-Von Dudley and Stevie Richards redemptions. I took the deal. I don't know much about sparkle packs, but I feel like the value of those is much greater than a D-Von and Stevie auto combined?

100%, especially if it’s the ones with one guaranteed numbered card.

Even with Panini sending a lot out which may lower value a bit (think all old redemptions before 2012 or something got announced to get sparkles) it’s still gonna be more valuable than those guys lol (no hate)

24-25 is also Jayden Daniels and some other QB’s so if you hit them or wait and they have good season or start out hot those go up in price.

yeah that was my thought, too. NFL wax goes for so much and the rookie class has no slam dunks like Mahomes or Allen, but it has enough intrigue with Daniels and Williams that it might spurn an uptick in price closer to the season. Could be a $100+ lottery ticket to grab a rare Bret Hart card for my PC rather than a $5 Stevie Richards auto.

Yeah sometimes it seems they just throw their hands up and go “sparkle packs!” Lol so people with higher end redemptions get mad but those with lower end usually end up coming up.

Things like sparkle packs become even more valuable with the auto issues as even something like a non numbered sparkle is covered when the guy has no Panini autos (Daniels etc)

Well, in a weird turn of events, Panini closed one of my redemption tickets today. On their own they decided to substitute one of my cards. I had not reached the 120 days yet, so it never gave me the option to wait or substitute. I'm not mad though, came out ahead in my opinion.

Original redemption:

I called about my Alexa Bliss redemption and still not given any updates. Complete turnoff for panini hobby boxes. Bad enough everything is stickered, but the redemptions are the biggest thievery in the business.

This has been an issue long before WWE, if you still choose to support that’s kind of on you. Everyone says “no more Panini for me” until the next hot product drops and it’s “got my box!” Lmao

I think there is a difference from buying Panini boxes now vs. when they were actively producing them and had the license. I didn't mind "rolling the dice" and getting a box here and there during their licensed years and I only got skunked on one redemption. But I'd never buy a box of WWE Panini now since the wrestlers are likely not going to sign for Panini anymore at this point and there were just too many redemptions. You may get lucky and get a replacement from their stash but more likely sparkle packs.

It just isn't worth the risk now for me, I really liked some of the Panini sets but I won't buy any now, will stick to one box of each Topps release since they have a strong relationship with WWE and seem to be doing better with redemptions.

Someone on Instagram posted a ton of WWE autos they got from Panini for their redemptions and said they called...so I tried again and told them about the post asking if that offer is available to me.

"We have no WWE so I think your friend is mistaken...ill put you down for other sports but we're all out of WWE"

To the reps point it has been a Min since I remember WWE on a redemption reports. Also for anyone going or has access to someone going to the National some of the bigger names might garner you a Black Box, not sure how mid carders or jobber autos would go but if you can get a black box they usually sell pretty well, I doubt most would be a loss compared to the auto if moving sealed

The 2025 National Sports Card Convention is right around the corner, and Panini America’s Customer Service team will once again be set up to provide it’s Panini Black Box Redemption Exchange Program to collectors.

For those who are unfamiliar with this program, Panini America will provide collectors with an opportunity to exchange their redemptions that are over 120 days old with a 1/1 Panini Black Box (or boxes) at the iconic Panini America booth at the 2025 NSCC. A 1/1 Panini Black Box is a guaranteed mystery on-card autograph that will be embossed and stickered as an official 1/1 Black Box card and is exclusive to the NSCC.

Here are some rules and tips to keep in mind for those who are interested in this program.

You must book an appointment to be eligible for the Panini Black Box Redemption Exchange Program. Appointments are booked online through Panini America’s website. You will have to select a day and time slot that you will be able to attend in-person to receive your Panini Black Boxes. (PANINI’S BLACK BOX REDEMPTION EXHANGE PROGRAM IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. PANINI AMERICA’S CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM WILL NOT BE PROVIDING PANINI BLACK BOXES TO ANYONE WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT)
If you book an appointment, you will have the ability to select up to ten different redemptions on your account that are over 120 days old to be replaced with a Panini Black Box or boxes (the number of boxes you receive is pre-determined by the Panini America Customer Service Team).
The redemptions you select for your appointment will be individually valued and then combined into a total value that will be applied to your appointment. Interesting turn of events - i was called by panini and offered a Cody Kaboom in exchange for my Triple H/Steph as well as 3 Cody autos (they valued my 4 cards at $700 and the Cody Kaboom at $798 based on a recent ebay sale). It was kind of a "take it or leave it" proposition but its interesting theyre finding random case hits to exchange for redemptions now

Probably trying to avoid giving out as many black boxes as possible lol. Taking the sketchiness of them having “ultra rare” case hits everyone says are so low numbered if odds were available and just offering them for replacements aside, I personally don’t think that’s a great trade especially when Steph/Triple H autos these days are likely rarer than Kabooms plus 3 Cody autos? I mean it’s kind of apples to oranges could be on-card etc but not sure if they have yet but I’d imagine a Steph/HHH dual with Topps could reach that valuation alone. Also no idea what future holds but if buying I’d rather one of the less popular case hits like some of the Revolution ones (forget the names) as with such a short license run I think the rarity alone is what will hold weight I don’t think Downtowns or Kabooms will hold the same power as in other sports.

Taking the replacement was a good call. I don’t think they will get any of the active wrestlers to sign, especially HHH or Cody. Those that continue to wait will end up with basketball or NFL cards as a consolation.

Ahh, wasn’t sure if you had already accepted or not. I don’t disagree with accepting though just that I don’t feel they offered a great trade but it is panini, obviously everyone can’t attend National but they should offer comparable compensation imo when you would of likely been eligible for one or two and sealed they def will sell for more than $798.

On a positive note I’d imagine they don’t want QC complaints after this replacing redemptions so maybe it’s a pristine copy and if you grade can get a 10 and up value slightly, plus cards like that will get popular/a boost when he inevitably wins the title back.

I wish I could have gone to the national haha and to your earlier point it seems they're desperately trying to avoid white boxes. My biggest hope on this is that they dont have a lot of Kabooms lying around. I felt better knowing the pure scarcity of them (only one on ebay at the moment) but if they end up giving other people Cody Kabooms as well then ill definitely have egg on my face.

Im also disappointed because when I first requested a replacement on my Triple H/Steph I was quoted at around 750 value based on an ebay sale. Since I put in my replacement request (like February 2024), one has since sold for $500 and that was Panini's valuation of that card alone this week. Like I said, I did try to negotiate and I did mention that at one point I was directly quoted at 750, but they provided me the card ladder data and I couldn't fight it. All in all however, im glad I got something high quality and most importantly im done with panini cs lol
