Dear Platinum Members,

We think many of us can agree on this statement - what a day for baseball yesterday! With a multitude of exciting and historic moments taking place, we're pleased to offer autographed cards for some of these special occasions.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. has been on an incredible tear to start the 2021 season and was improving on those numbers Wednesday afternoon. The 23-year-old went 3-for-4 with two home runs and 4 RBI in a 6-5 extra inning loss to Miami. The defeat certainly didn't take away from Ronald's performance - and he is now leading the MLB in home runs (6), extra-base hits (13) and OPS (1.500). He is also tied with Hank Aaron (1959) for the most extra-base hits by a Braves player through the first 12 games of a season.

We are going to commemorate this historical moment with the following autographed cards. Here are the cards available:

Hello everyone - we do have some breaking news!

The talk of the baseball world today - Chicago White Sox pitcher Carlos Rodon, who no-hit the Cleveland Indians last night - has agreed to an autograph deal.

Additionally, in celebration of his 2,000th game caught for the Cardinals, we now have Yadier Molina signing cards as well.

We will be offering autographed cards to the following parallels for both players:

Carlos Rodon
/99 autograph
/49 autograph
/25 autograph
/10 autograph
/5 autograph

Yadier Molina
/99 autograph
/49 autograph
/25 autograph
/10 autograph
/5 autograph

The new deadline time for these reservations is 3:30 p.m. EST

Too many autographs so far IMHO. Rodon makes complete sense. Molina is a good milestone, so I'm ok with that one. Did we really need an Acuna today too?

Yeah, I was wondering about that one. He is off to a hot start but not sure it is an auto TN moment.

I'm hoping it is an epic picture that just can't be passed up for an auto...everyone loves the throwbacks! If it is a pic like Locastro...well then....

Schmidt's event is actually on April 17, and Ripken was already released today, so my thought is that Schmidt may go live tomorrow or Saturday. That said, for Platinum reservations, yes Schmidt today.

That was from the Topps Platinum email indicating that the Acuna reservation deadline was pushed back to accommodate two additional autographs that are being released.

That's correct. We get the heads up and the ability to reserve one of each autograph/relic card. Whatever is left after those reservations goes to website for purchase by the general public.

That is always the big question as they do not release that information. This year, we have no idea yet. Last year, or the year prior, I think we calculated low 50s, so I would expect about the same right now. It started out around 25 and then into the 30s, the first couple of years.

Has anyone tried redeeming the "Card of the Month" for a year code? Mine has a "20" in it and I feel like it might be old? I requested in February so maybe that's why it doesnt work? Frustrating either way

FYI, one disadvantage to the early reservation is the lack of early price disclosure. It's a blind purchase in that sense. Also, we cannot purchase the 1/1 so that always goes up on the site.

Not all of us purchase a given card, and sometimes if we do purchase it we wait for it to release to the public so we know the price before committing.

Most auto/relic have 189 total run, while those /49 you reference have a 90 total run. That said, at roughly 50-60 total Plats, there should always be cards available for the public.

If it somehow gets low in the secondary market later on, I might buy it.

Buying, selling, prospecting, gambling, etc., are parts of the fun. I will say that being older than many here I just can’t justify sticker autos. Give me a nice on-card auto and I feel that little connection to the signer.
