Funny you posted this now. I finally today was able to regain these 2 SP/203 cards. Took 2+ years to find them again.

Question: I'm more of a basketball fan so I don't know how good Ichiro was. Can someone give me an equivalent of Ichiro to a basketball player? I ask because I have his topps chrome rookie card in a psa 10, wondering how long I should hold. I hear about his HOF coming up. Thanks.

Ichiro was a great hitter, but he was a contact and speed guy, not a power hitter. Power hitters are the darlings of the baseball hobby. Ichiro was also great on defense, but not at a premium defensive position. And he was pretty well liked and respected across the league. A perfect comparison from basketball does not exist, because the sports are too different, but I'd say the best comps in basketball are well liked and well respected players who were top players, but not at the positions that garner the most hobby love. I'm thinking David Robinson or Hakeem Olajuwon.

I forgot to post this card I recently pick up. I always loved the 2015 Flagship design, photo variations, and “back of jersey” images.. and PSA “Fine Nines”.

A Pete Rose with speed, pure contact hitter who had low walk rates but even lower strike out rates. Played a good outfield. Whit Merrifield with less power? Tough to equate a player in todays game because todays game doesn’t value contact it values power with less criticism on striking out.

Rod Carew ! Both great bunters and that part of the game is dwindling.

Upper Deck had an exclusive for Ichiro as far as auto's and game used items. Even though Topps has Trout tied up there's so much more Topps "high end" product compared to what Upper Deck offered through the early and mid 2000's.
