My Nolan Vides and Griffey Shore are both being shipped Monday.

I will keep them as a reminder to never ever get too far ahead of myself.

Cards are volatile.....Topps Project 2020 is by far the most volatile!

I keep saying I'm not going to buy any more P2020 cards and the cards come out and change my mind, just another 2 pack I keep telling myself. I did skip a few though. I think I will go back to collecting only Trout cards and maybe 1 artist, not sure which one yet there's a few I have a complete set of.

It’s actually insane that I only have up to card 84 in hand, so there’s 60 in the backlog, literally over a month worth of sales they aren’t staffed well enough to process. I get Covid happened, but let’s get it together Topps

That's the beauty of this set though, especially if all but the earliest, rarest cards stay within striking distance of original MSRP.

If your interests change over the course of the set, you can pretty easily swap out some of the cards you lose interest in for cards you like. You may not get all 20 of a player/artist if you don't have or pay for the oldest ones, but I bet there's going to be some cards within the next 250+ released that will change people's minds and make them desire to go after an artist or player all over again.

I have nothing to be excited about unless Ermsy drops another P2020 or companion card. Sophia just came out with her Trout so I think it’s safe to say she won’t have anything this week. I’m VERY happy with the two artists I’ve decided to collect. At one time it was up to six and then realized there was no way I could afford 20 cards from six artists plus companion cards and whatnot.

Yeah that's a great decision! I have narrowed mine significantly as well. I've sold off my Siff, Thiele, Blake, and Matt Taylors.

I've evolved multiple times already at this point. hahaha that's the beauty of P2020. So many damn options. I think I get more excited for the companions and autographs than the actual cards : )

The only artist I’m collecting regardless of what happens is Ermsy. This project made sense to me with his work in general and it’s shown that way so far through his cards. I think he’ll continue to do strong work assuming you like his aesthetic.

I have Siff as well, who I think is fairly safe in terms of me liking as a set, and then Shore I’m 50/50 on moving forward. JK5, while I love his cards, is almost too much for me within the constrained size of the card. Also his transition to more color has made me pause a bit (set could either be an amazing transition, or a bit awkward all together). Efdot, whose work I love and thought would be a no brainer to do a set, is creating a set that is much too dark as a whole for my tastes. His use of color in his murals and art are what got me in to him originally (and skating), and his cards don’t speak to me the same way (though his Jackie and Doc cards are two of my favorites given the tie-ins to 2020).

The whole thing is so interesting, not only are all our favorites so varied, but one card can come out and change a person’s entire plan to collect an artist one way or the other. Fun ride for sure.
