I finally caved and got some megas on eBay. Found someone selling with a BIN of $200, but the description said “set of 2” so maybe people thought it was just one box and passed on it. Seems like the best deal I’m going to find for the foreseeable future.

To keep it simple, the bots can work around captcha or significantly reduce its effectiveness. People who are botting these restocks online are at a significant advantage because they can run their bots for extended periods of time and more or less automatically check out. Botters also have monitors that will ping them within fractions of a second when things are back in stock. So while you're sitting at your computer hitting refresh or waiting for a nowinstock alert, they're already checking out. It doesn't mean buying online manually is impossible, it's just extremely unlikely.

Yes bot guys are here on the sly. Anyone who gets over 100 blasters to 200 blasters on here from target or walmart has a bot.

I've started to notice a ton of shoe guys on Instagram using bots to get all the target reloads.

I work in the area so I go into this store in the morning looking for Lysol wipes and such. I see this same employee standing behind the cash registers. He is not stocking shelves or working the registers, I believe he may be part of management. I'll be back there tomorrow to get his name and find out his title..The manager I spoke to refused to provide that info.

Google is your friend. Knowing your way around Discord would also make things easier. Hell, just search for sneaker botting on youtube and you'll find your way in. It took a while but once people in the sneaker community saw how much there was to be made on trading cards (and funkos, exclusive toys, prints, memorabilia, video game consoles, etc) these items got harder and harder to buy online. I just think the actual hobbyists and enthusiasts here should at least know what they're dealing with.

People here are aware of that. If someone doesn't know people outside the hobby have been using bots for a while to flip product, they probably have been living under a rock.

Just trying to be helpful! It seems like a lot of people here have limited knowledge of how they work or what they are/aren't capable of doing. If I'm mistaken I'll happily keep quiet.

The seller messed up the description and it was only one box for $200 lol, so I cancelled the transaction. Should have figured it was too good to be true. Back to the drawing board!

Companies just don’t care, they can cancel orders From the bots but choose not to.

Im one of those people completely ignorant on the subject. I hear Bot and I think robots. I have no idea what one even looks like. Is it hardware? Is it software? Actually nevermind, I dont care what they are. All I know if they are causing major issues for a lot of people in the hobby. best advice I can give is, always try and get in in on the initial stock. I could be wrong but I think once a page is up, the bots can park on that page and just wait for the restocks. So yes it's virtually impossible to get in on restocks but you do have a chance on the initial stock release. Good luck!
