Today's mail included what I believe to be my best steal of my collection. I've collected Pacers cards long enough that regular jersey cards don't do anything for me (with the exception of NBA Finals jerseys). Last week I was scrolling through some Pacers listings and zooming by all of the jersey lots....thankfully something caught my eye in the thumbnail.

I nervously tracked the auction several times a day to see if anyone would bid it up. Someone else already bid on it...surely they knew the value of one of these cards?

I put in a relatively large bid and much to my surprise, I won the lot. This is already one of my top 5 favorite cards in my collection. Check out the price and the prize.

Holy #@#@#@#@, that DD patch! That is one of the biggest steals I've seen on here in recent memory. Some people on here might not even realize how rare those are. Even for "commons" they sell for insane prices. There was a Sam Perkins recently that sold for $188.

Love the Gibsons.. such an underrated player.

Bibby Lucky 13 looks incredible with your pic.. holy crap.

Yeah, that's an insane steal. WOW. Great patch too for the small window.

I won this lot on eBay for a decent price, nothing crazy. My first Centurions refractor!

Thumbs up

Nice Bibby, interesting to know that they're so uncommon, I never would have guessed. Since I'm not the most familiar with the Fleer Tradition stuff, I honestly would have thought they were the more common inserts, but I see that they were also redemption prizes, always cool to learn something new! Looks like a prismatic card, is that the case?

Sweet Dale Davis, I'll bet you were ecstatic when you won the lot. It's always good to see collectors find the deals first, I'm sure the scan doesn't do it any justice.

Awesome Admiral card, I have the Kobe from that set and these are really nice cards in hand, but they scan really well too. Glad you decided to keep the protective coating on your cards.

I've been lacking in the contributions lately, but all the stuff below should make up for it!

Got in a monster amount of cards today and there were so many that I decided to scan half of them. Most were commons for my PC, four cards of the GOAT and well...a bunch of other stuff, but here are some highlights:

The G.O.A.T.

TSC Chrome refractor, I like the old school vibe of that Panini Donruss card, and of course these two Team USA cards, base and Gold Medal are among my favorites of the numerous Team USA cards I got in, but didn't scan.

Got in a TON of these, but scanned the highlights only, chelseafc11 and RS1313 might recognize some of them:

annnnnnnnnnnnd a few of the bigger cards:

Finally got the refractor, had the base and Atomic for the longest time:

Player collectors will certainly recognize what this is, so will chelseafc11 :

.......finally, been wanting this card for a LONG time, it's one of my absolute favorites in the set, the foreground image features the black jersey with the sharp red trim and the red headband for a great contrast to the white jersey being sported in the background and the Legacy stamping lights it all up:

Each one of these cards were acquired for WAY under the poverty line.

Whoa!! Great centering on that O-Pee-Chee. And under the poverty line! Nice work! Obviously love the Cliffy legacy and all of those electric court golds as well. But man, that OPC is top notch.

Recent ebay and LCS additions:

Never seen one of these before and when I saw it in the dollar box at the card shop, I jumped on it. Serial numbered to /2002. Very much an oddball card and not exactly eye candy, but it fits nicely in my Spurs PC.

Would you guys believe this was also a dollar box find! I was flipping through stacks of mostly trash cards and that undeniable circuit board was suddenly staring up at me. I slowly slid the top card off (hoping it was Penny) but hey I'll take the Big Ticket any day. Card looks gem in hand. Picture does not do justice!

Found this on ebay for $2.49 shipped. No, there's no COA but this goes straight to my Brandon PC and there is no doubt in my mind that the signature is authentic. Love this card.

The illuminator is very much out of reach at the moment so I settled for the base version of this unbelievably rad insert. Intricate die cut design + action photo + purple lightning = must have 90s card.

This one was slightly over the poverty line, as it should be. I've wanted one of these for a while and it's a stunner in hand. Nice bold auto, sharp corners, crisp photo. And overall one of the better designs to come out of the early 2000s. One of my new favorites.

Among the other dollar box finds were a 96 Topps Stars Golden Season Atomic Refractor George Mikan, a 95-96 UD All-Star Class David Robinson, and a 95-96 SP Garnett (Premier Prospects).

Damn! So much awesome stuff came rolling in all at once. The Stoudamire Centurions and Big Al gold RC are beautiful. Love all those EC Gold pickups. Pretty awesome picture on the James Robinson. The Kemp OPC is a killer, and that Spliff Robinson is beautiful.

Great dollar box finds too. The Manu is a very cool card. I vaguely remember seeing that set once before but forgot about it. Pretty original idea, which is rare for card companies. Love the Penny auto too. Finding those with nice bold signatures like that one is becoming increasingly hard. I've seen several (of various players) from that set that have extremely faded autos after years of being kept in poor conditions/lighting.

Man you guys come through for me when my budget is so pathetic (or non-existent as it is right now, I've purchased exactly 2 cards in the last 7 weeks) that I have to live vicariously through everyone.

Where do I begin? Stouadmire Centurions refractor is sick, That Davis patch is a MASSIVE steal, with the KG takeit2.net not too far behind. Of course I LOVE my main man Mitch making an appearance from somebody other than me haha. The Penny auto is awesome too, although it always throws me a little when I see him in a non-Magic jersey haha.

Great stuff as usual everybody!

I second this post. This is a very collectible set. I just saw a chrome refractor final piece card of my PC guy listed on eBay... caught it within 60 seconds of listing with BIN of 200$ and I POUNCED. I was actually very happy with that price.... so yeah 5$ is steal of the month if not year

I was just thinking about how you sent me the regular jersey version not too long ago. Funny I end up picking them both up in such a short amount of time. The last one is /10, right? I doubt I ever land that one. I'm still ecstatic about this purchase. I've had to resisthe spamming pictures of it everywhere so far

Yep the chrome refractor is hand numbered (like your chrome, which you didn't even show off!) to 10 instead of /25. I did some math and I think there are ~350 of each plain jersey version.

Crazy thing is I have the chrome and chrome refractor for Harper but can't find the base! So I'm chasing the rainbow on this one too

The patches on the pacers cards in this set are sooooo much nicer than the lakers players too

I saw your post about the Harper jersey the other day and couldn't believe it. I scoured lots of Lakers finals jerseys on ebay and looked through completed listings. I guess I'm so accustomed to seeing Travis Knight's and Deavan George's all the time!

Sammy: Sickkkk Centurions ref. Fantastic taste right there, I need one of those in my life. That reminds me, I've been watching another Damon centurions ref thinking Steveo might've been interested, except I don't think I've ever remembered to tell him. Derp. The hardwood honors drob is a really cool set too, was nice to see a Finest insert that strayed a bit from the more traditional refractor route. It actually mimics a hologram style that was really popular and used in Marvel cards, specifically a year of Spiderman cards.

Abra: Once again reminded of the godlike photography used in that year's UD set. Look at those shots of Hill, Ewing and even James Robinson - Bah Gawd! Love the Best Cuts ref too, no secret that's a favorite set of mine, especially the atomics. I know those O-Pee-Chees are really tough to find but my favorite card of the bunch is hands down the row 0 Cliffy Legacy.

Pennywise: Sharp ass Pennies as usual, the Triumvirate is nasty, that year's standard versions looked like - at the time - the 'futuristic' versions of the 93 Scoring Kings. Could only imagine what the Illuminator looks like, still never held any of those in hand. That's another godlike set. The Brandon is a very, very nice looking IP auto. What a great price for it too. But most importantly, did you really just grab another beast card for peanuts? LOL.
I want it to sink in for everyone that you've paid a whopping $1.01 for a KG takeit2.net and a Penny A Cut Above combined.

All hail the poverty king, pennywise. Genuflect in his presence.

Hahah I actually paid 5 cents for the Penny so $1.05 combined. Nickel for a Penny.

Jeez man, come on... $1.01 would just be stealing.

The Robinson was my least anticipated card due to the crappy scan in the auction. You're right, these are so nice in hand. Regarding removing the plastic coating, what am I some kind of monster?

Love the Kemp Best Cuts and Robinson Legacy. Clifford Robinson is GOAT at headbands.

Thanks, I was really excited to get my first Centurions. The back of the card is nicer than that Shaq Topps Chrome Xfractor I received recently.

Hang in there, you'll be buying crazy 90s Mitch cards soon enough. There were a few crazy rare Vin Baker 90s parallels listed on COMC last night that were gone before I could click on them that made me think of you for some reason. I know, Vin Baker =/= Mitch Ritchmond.

I had no idea the Robinson would be this nice in hand. You're absolutely right - it's more of a foil-type refractor than a straight out refractor. MY favorite part about it is that only part of the card has that effect while the rest is flat chrome. Considering doing the set now, but the Jordan might be worth more than I'm willing to throw at it.

I've always liked that set. Really want to get the Kobe from it to match my Destiny Refractor.

Got 2 cards in today but one will be getting posted tomorrow or Friday when i receive it's partner.

Got this one for $10. I know it's a sin amongst 90's collectors but I'm debating peeling the coating. It's got a good amount of scratches on it and has tons of tiny bubbles that don't show up in this pic. Still haven't decided though.

Niiiiiiiiiiiice.

LOVE these as much as the Rock Stars refractor

I'm actually trying to move my Kobe refractor finally steveo but it's a graded copy, I know you're probably looking for a raw.

Have you considered his Prodigy refractor instead? Obviously the color theme isnt as similar to the Destiny as the Generations, but it's amazing in it's own right.
