Topps Project 2020 is the worst product since 1991 Fleer

Still working on a date and location. Just to confirm, the companion cards are not a requirement for this, as they are outside the Topps product set.

Really wishing I had started buying some of these at release. Tyson Beck is becoming one of my favorites but I'm never going to be able to justify buying some of his earlier cards at those prices

Only 21% of the set is in hand. Card 144 gets issued this week. Thats 36% of the set. That 15% backlog is what is keeping listings down.

All your points are well taken and true. But I'm comparing inventory levels to those prior to the Shore incident, and there have been 30+ cards go in hand since I started looking at these trends. All of your points were just as true then as now, but I'm still comparing apples to apples in my opinion even though they are strange looking apples.

Its going to take continued demand to keep pricing stable and rising hopefully. Cards 61-88 are getting creamed right now because everyone that bought them a month or 2 ago expecting huge profits are panic selling and print runs are just too high for the 8kish+ PR cards to stay above water. And its going to get worse before it gets better as cards 90-110 hit the market. But my guess is by the time card 100 gets in hand 61-88 will have bottomed out and will be firmed up at a minimum, so there will be less panic selling at card 100 in hand than currently. Why do I think that? Because cards 1-60 have DEFINITELY firmed up and are mostly up 30%+ from their lows. Even these high print run cards are going to look attractive at $15+ because the first 60 will give continued confidence for the P2020 market as a whole.

My guess is by the time card 170 hits Topps.com or before there will be a bottom in PR (which may already be happening but thats a dangerous thing to assume) and a rise to closer to 7-9k PR for the average card as prices continue firming for 61-88 and they begin selling again for over MSP and these cards in the 5-6k PR range start selling consistently for $30+ in the secondary market.

And we still have over half the project to go after that point. As many say on this forum buckle your seat belts if you haven't already. Take some dramamine. We are already well past the bay and are out to sea, and there will be more storms. Yes, there will be storms. But those storms, boys, separate the boys from the men and the girls from the women. By the end of this thing I'm planning on having multiple nautical tats (from Mr Cartoon hopefully), be sporting a sweet tan and have a crap ton on salt in my hair. Yes, and that wild eyed look of a man thats passed through something he didn't know if he could survive. Who knows, may even have an eye patch and a peg leg. But I'll be able to look over my full 400 card P2020 set and laugh at whatever comes.
