Think you're right as the 1 of 1 Inferno was 1 in 1784 hobby boxes while the Onyx was 1 in 241 hobby boxes...so that's a 1 to 7.40 ratio...so no more than 8 Onyx per Inferno. At $69.99 retail per hobby box, not sure how many of the hobby boxes will ever get purchased/opened either.

The blank back? It's super gimmicky though, isn't it?
I'm don't really see this as something many collectors are after, even for someone like Acuna.
Plus, it's not a 'hit' found in packs, but rather released direct from 'toppsvault'..

But yes, for someone who collects blank backs AND Acuna, it was a steal for a Acuna Heritage 1/1.

Seems high to me. $235 for a card where Topps intentionally didn't print a back on it, just so they could call it a 1/1 and sell it outside of packs. I'm sure they make five figures each year doing this.

I offered $200 last night...He counted with $380 and I declined thinking his value was around $350

Was surprised to see the card sell for $250 this morning

The seller did not send me any counteroffer at all. When I sent my offer of $225, I also sent a message to the seller that a red refractor recently sold for $225. Perhaps the seller was happy to get anything more than $225. I was willing to spend up to $250-275 if we had gone into negotiations. Oh well, too late now..

I also sent a message to the seller (along with my offer) that a red refractor recently sold for $225. Perhaps the seller was happy to get anything more than $225

It is possible that the seller isn’t a fan of people telling him past sales. Informed sellers who do their research might find it off- putting. Just a thought.

I could definitely see that.

I base my offer on past sales but I only mention past sales to the seller if the seller opens the door by telling me he needs $X amount because others are listed at $X.

The seller of the Acuna clear acetate sat on my offer ($600) a week or so back then came back around, after my offer expired, to tell me there are other higher offers and asking me to submit a higher offer. I had no interest at that point. It’s still for sale so I am assuming he did not get an offer he liked.

I'd rather have the 2017 super or red autos, but this would be the third most desired card for me. With everything else in the distance. I'm assuming this gets $10k at least.

absolutely! when i sell if i get an offer with a message of recent comps (though usually its just one comp that favors the offer) i usually respond with no thanks one sale does not make a market. its poor buyer etiquette. i know what im doing and well aware of comps.

Hard to imagine the mark would be on-card.

The guy that pulled it is in one of my facebook groups. He said he was sending it in for grading two months ago and wouldn't sell it before it came back. It must not have graded well.
