Not specific to this set, and 20/20 hindsight, but a couple of the rookies could be real stinkers and the fielding/running images are bleh. No notes otherwise, probably the best executed insert set of 2024.

It is fortunate that I have not seen any duplicate serial-numbers for any cards yet.

In this day and age, it appears the set still has some integrity.

As long as 1-2 of the rookies become a hobby mainstay over the next decade, that’s all that matters.

It’s a shame they didn’t include Jackson Merrill or Bobby, but all-in-all the checklist is pretty solid.

Have we talked about why these are numbered to 24 and not a normal number like 25? Was it just to coincide with the release year?

That was my thinking as well, similar to the 1999 Fleer Brilliants 24kt that were /24.

Has anyone ever seen one at their local shows?

Several months back, one member saw a Trout, but that’s the last time we’ve heard of any in person sightings publicly.

I see both the Elly and Langford 1/1s on Ebay. From the same seller.

Yes, they are.

Only 23 other people in the world can build another set.

Topps missed an opportunity here. How do you have a 2024 set, numbered to 24, but make it a 25 card set? You couldn't cut one damn player out and make it a 24 card set, numbered to 24, in '24?

Fanatics going to 10x the hobby by setting the new standard - 25 carat gold, releasing most of their 2024 products in 2025, and therefore keeping the set at 25 players, with a print run of 25 (24 base + 1 super).

The number 25 is simply the new 24.

It isn’t 24 until they tell you it’s 24.

It’s interesting to note that there have only been twelve closed auctions in the past month - it was hovering at 30 closed auctions per month at the beginning of the year.

A few Kjerstads have popped up this morning at reasonable prices if anyone needs to add to their set.

Leaning towards going for a graded set now, especially since I won’t be buying any topps chrome this year.
