I am not dealing with any shipping right now. A few week break will be nice. Plus I am getting things ready for the $1 shipping with tracking next month. I am excited to buy and sell come 2021!

First time I've felt the problem in shipping; dozens of items just in limbo right now across the country, shipped 1-3 weeks ago w/ no updates.

Some of them five figure values; just makes you a touch nervous when you're in the dark without any knowhow of if/when these things hit the grid again. Before December, I could tell you of 2/10,000 packages I've had problems with. To have 30 of them in three weeks is quite the change.

Ive got 5 packages coming that are all late as of now with only one of them close if tracking is correct on them. Hoping for the best but waiting patiently for now.

Do not spend extra for Priority, it does not help, had a Priority Mail package take 2 weeks

Still waiting on a couple things from mid-November and early December. I won't be buying anything (that utilizes USPS) until February.

I had a card get to me in NY from Japan in 3 days via FedEx.

First off, I can't afford to go after eBay legally. It was a $100 item. Would probably cost a grand or more to hire an attorney, deal with court costs, if that's how it works (I don't know I've never had to have an attorney for any reason, haha). So it's not worth that for a $100 card.

I have 20+ packages stuck somewhere since 1st week of December with a couple no scans. Looks like its going to be $500+ in refunds at some pt. Worried about the 50+ sales happening this weekend. On the purchasing side it hasnt been that bad. Nothing crazily late so far but the USPS slow down if super real.

Yea, I have quite a few that I have shipped out that are stuck somewhere, and have already gotten one request for a refund. Not really sure what to do! Hopefully some movement soon.

Good to know - I am in the PHX area and have had major delays on over 40 items - both incoming and outgoing and nothing larger than an envelope arrive in over two weeks.

Hoping it gets settled this week but doubtful

After selling 20k~ worth of stuff since Thanksgiving and STRESSING horribly about all the issues, I'm literally down to 1 item that's still in a mess(keeps going back and forth from TN to TX...delivery destination is in TN...randomly will go back to Dallas). "Only" a 1k~ item, so 19k is delivered and feedback received. So happy. I'd say a good 15 of I think 18 items were shipped Priority and it made 0 difference in speed when compared to the FC items.

I did ship 1 item last week via Fedex Express. Cost was about 2x USPS Express prices but it literally got across country and delivered in 1 and a half days.

I'm only going to be selling cheap items till this all passes. I prefer not to have to pay 60-70 for shipping(I offer free shipping on everything). 3.50 for FC is so much nicer. Hopefully they'll get things squared away once the holidays are over. What a mess for both buyers and sellers.

This is true. I use usps priority mail for pretty much everything and its no longer guaranteed 3 or 4 days but more like 2 weeks or more. Either use Priority Mail Express which is guaranteed at least in 2 days or FedEx which cost a ton.

I got a seller who shipped me an item last week using Registered Priority Mail since he gets paranoid of losing the package. Worst timing to use registered mail smh. Most likely not going to see it till end of January

I am buying but before paying asking buyers to hold off shipping until after X-Mas

One card I bought arrived 10 days late. Another 1 day early.

You can sue them in small claims court. You don't need to hire a lawyer but they do. Still may not be worth it for a $100 item.

have around 20-30 items with no scan updates ranging 4-15 days since last update. Definitely feeling it. Needed most by this weekend

Just a heads up for people - I had a package incoming from AZ since 12/3 - it came in yesterday. My NJ package from 12/7 came in the previous day. Don't lose hope if you haven't received your cards yet!

Received a package today for the first time in about 2 weeks. It was a box of 50 Card Saver 1s I bought on eBay on Saturday I am in PA and this came all the way from California in 3 days but everything else Ive bought is all over the place. A purchase I made here a week ago from about 2 hours away in Maryland just updated for the first time in 4 days.... at a sort facility in Florida. Ugh.

Have just under 20 packages I am waiting for

Just had the last 2 eBay orders land at their destination today, I shipped both on Nov 23rd (both were P2020 Siff Trouts, both going to Arizona), there where no updates other than 'Label Created' on Nov 23rd until today Dec 23rd, both where shown 'processed through PHX', 'received at Post Office' 'out for deliver' and 'delivered', no other scans in between for 30 days. Both buyers were great and understanding.

I hope the USPS gets it act together after Christmas.

Luckily I only had 1 person open a claim on eBay (for P2020 FOIL Thiele Thomas) after 10 days. He claimed it was to protect himself, but he was trying to scam, he knew USPS was way behind, he wanted a free $300 card, he still had 20 days to file a claim, he was just hoping he could escalate the claim as soon as possible and get a refund. It got to him 2 days after he opened the claim (this past Monday), unfortunately my eBay payout won't get to me till after Christmas now because of that $204 hold and wasn't released till today, so that jackweed eBay buyer basically withheld my $200 I was going to us for my daughter's first bike (she'll still get it on Saturday, just not Christmas day like I hoped).

Long story short block bobjr11 <-- he'll try to scam you during the USPS slow shipping

I would try again (and again), because that's insanity. So if something arrives after the "expected" arrival date, the person gets the item for free? This isn't a Domino's Pizza. The arrival date isn't even something you set personally, it's an estimate put together by the computer. Your job is to ship the item within the time frame they give you upon completing the sale. Which you did, presumably.

To echo what someone sent above, I would try them again and inform them you will be reporting them to the BBB if they give you any hassle.


In happier news, I had an item ping today that it was going out for delivery after it was lost in the ether for 10 days. Only a $30 package, but it's still nice to avoid the hassle.

so you got the HUUUGE card?

I just had a nothing-card show up yesterday (12/22), it was accepted by USPS Dec 1. Took 21 days to go 200 miles.

I think it'll probably take a week or two to clear out the backlog.

I don't think the average Joe understands how swamped and overworked the USPS is right now. Everyone is working as much overtime as permitted, but there simply aren't enough bodies to scan/sort all the packages.

Roughly 10-15% of the USPS workforce is out due to COVID, and package volumes are waaaaaaaaaaaay up. And the fact that FedEx and UPS are refusing pickups hasn't helped either, because those shippers then turn to the USPS, increasing package volumes even more.

If anybody is to blame, it's DeJoy (and Trump for appointing him), not the workers.
