Maybe the seller made major changes to his inventory (deletions, private sales, etc...), and some of them were the ones you had in your cart.

I found a gem on the site last week, one guy had a 2018 Bowman Prospects Blue Ref Fernando Tatis /150 listed for $6.50. I remembered thinking this guy is gonna be pissed he didnt adjust his price on this, then sure as sh!t when my package arrived out of the 7-8 cards I bought off him Tatis was the one he couldnt find and so he gave me a refund. Shocking!

I found a 2020 Topps Independence Day Fernando Tatis Jr #168 (#'d /76) on there for $40 about 10 days ago. Thought there was a good chance I'd never receive it, but he made good on the deal, received the card.

You should have known long before the package got to you that you weren't getting that card because if he was on the level he shouldn't have, in good conscience, hit the fill order button for the full order. Sounds like he knowingly hit the fill order for the full order so his accuracy % wouldn't take a hit.

Really? What he did wasn't right.

I get that some sellers have hundreds of thousands of cards (some even millions) and can never adjust prices with how fast some cards in the hobby are going up theses days, but the answer cant be to just screw the buyer that found a good deal.

He should have sent the card and considered it tuition. That's what a seller with integrity would have done.

What normally happens is that this person also sells cards locally from an LCS or something, and it was already purchased in-store before it was ordered online. So if he didn't really have the card, he couldn't mail it.

I actually cane across a guy at show a few years back who showed me a box of cards listed on sportlots. He had it at 10 cents. Had to do wonders for his %

August is setting a new high for me in orders and in sales.

I know there are thousands of sellers on many different platforms to choose from, so I really appreciate those buyers that have chosen me to help add to their collections. Thanks you.

I made my first sale in November 2005 - August will be 30% higher than any other month in that time.

That's incredible, and great news for the whole site.

I’m smaller than most of y’all, but August has also been my best month. Glad to hear y’all are doing well, too. I adjusted some shipping costs so I wasn’t totally sure what to attribute the good month to, but it sounds like August has been good all around.

Do you guys who are active sellers on both Sportlots and COMC see that both platforms have good and bad months concurrently?

You guys may want to take a look at the prices on your Jesse Winker cards. He's been hitting well, and my last few orders have been for him.

Record number of orders for me this month-218-and I'm rolling 25 into September. July was higher cards sales and dollar sales, but only 172 orders. In July, I sold 5902 cards and in August I sold 4,269 cards, biggest card sales months ever-over 10,000 cards. Even though we've picked up 100s of sellers since I joined in 2005, it's good to see that many are doing well.

I can only speak to my inventory - for a frame of reference, I have almost 200k cards listed on Sportlots and about 18k on COMC.

My results have been more variable than I would have thought, especially lately. There are some general seasonal trends that hold true on both sites and, in general, sales have been pretty good on both formats however there have been two months on COMC that have (slightly) under performed my historical numbers here in 2020. Interestingly, both those months were significant spikes on SL.

This is anecdotal at best - it could have something to do with the fact that I have been able to add more inventory on SL while COMC has largely been stagnant or it could have to do with more people looking for alternatives to lower end cards...I really have no idea.

It was interesting to see some differences in the sales curves though.

Are fees calculated on the total sales within a month or on the orders filled within a month?

For example...if somebody placed an order on 8/30 but i wait to fill it until 9/1, is that applied to Aug or Sept?

It's probably pointless, but I'm asking because I received a nice sized order over the weekend. But this order will not push me over a fee threshold into the next tier. so I figured I'd just wait and fill it in Sept to give me a nice start for the new month. Like I said, it's probably a moot point either way because it likely won't effect my final Aug or Sept fees. Just curious how that works. It’s already Sept anyways, so I know it won’t matter.

DMS6391-It will show up in September. If I know I can't reduce my fees, I always roll orders into the next month. I pull the cards and ship the customers order, but don't mark it filled until the first. I capped out on August 25th, so I rolled 30 orders into September. That way it gives you a good start on the next month. All orders were shipped the day of, or the day after receiving them. You will receive a notice after 6 days of backlogged orders, that you must ship orders within 10 days of receipt, or sportlots will remove your inventory and cancel all orders.

Anyone else find today to be heavier than usual for sales? My sales today (number of sales, not dollar amount) were triple my usual daily average number of sales.

Got an email today from SL - I made it up to a Blue Star preferred seller! First time ever. Have spent most of the last couple years as a Yellow and dropped down to a Red from time to time when vacations or slower months have cropped up here and there so pretty excited. I don't think it means all that much but I still think it is pretty cool.

Thanks to all of you who have bought from me, it is appreciated!

I do this regularly. I asked years ago about making his fee schedule without the big drops they have now (I suggested he make them work like tax brackets). The current system can also create problems with credits for selling high dollar cards. If I sell 320 dollars and get 32 dollars credit For selling high value cards I get no reduction in fees.
