If only Old Man Ilitch were still around, I'd say the Tigers would make a play at him, split 1B/DH platoon with Miggy and even Schoop, or just move Schoopy back to 2B full time. Not sure if this has been discussed before, but through age 31, both Chipper and Freddie have a similar career stat line. Freddie currently has 43.1 War, Chipper finished with 85.3. If Freddy re-signs with ATL, it's pretty amazing to have two single franchise HOF players for the same team, one generation after another.

I think he and his fellow teammates are frustrated he hasn't been re-signed yet. Everyone keeps saying there's no way he'll sign anywhere else, but.....

Of course he wants to stay. But if another team offers him more money, will he take the money? I can't see him taking a home team discount. If he was willing to take a discount, he would have signed already. Truth is, Braves really don't need to resign him. They will already have a huge World Series bump, with or without Freedie. Some team will offer him a huge contract. Braves just need to be smart. At least they have Acuna signed long term.

As a fan of baseball in general, I hope he stays in Atlanta. I support players making as much money as the free market allows, so he just needs to flirt with a few teams to make sure he gets the best offer that the Braves have to give.

It’s hard to imagine that gem pop climbing too much higher at this point.
Could be an enormous card if he stays in a HOF track.
