Updated the collection today with some Russian mail, as I added this 2018-19 SeReal KHL 11th Season Blue parallel to my collection.

Aside from being an unnumbered parallel /20, these Blue parallels look almost identical to the Light Blue parallels in the same set, making it that much harder to track down. I've posted scans below of the two parallels:

The 'Blue' parallel (Left) vs the 'Light Blue' parallel (Right).

Safe to say this card was a nice one to cross off the list. Now I'm only 4 cards away from completing a monstrous 18-card rainbow.

Updating this thread with a card that I didn't even know existed.

In 2007-2008, SHL team Södertälje SK collaborated with Maxi ICA Stormarknad, a popular Swedish supermarket chain to release these 4" x 3" oversized cards at the local supermarket in Södertälje, Sweden. The original owner of this card also had this copy autographed. Very cool!

Thanks, Willy! I remember you picking up a Tavares Jersey Numbered FWAP a few months ago for you PC, so I knew I had to try and land the same type of card for my collection.

Yeah, those FWAP/100 cards are amazing… I will likely never own the FWA/999

I literally couldn’t believe it when I saw the 91/100 card… you must have felt similar when you saw 001/100

This FWAP 1/100 was found on COMC, and due to the scan I wasn't 100% sure if it was the # 1 or not, so opening up the package and being correct was fun.

I believe a collector in Sweden offered this card to me many years ago, so I guess it's out of his collection now and home where it belongs haha.

2022 couldn't have started any better for this collection, as I was able to meet Jhonas in-person on my vacation in Sweden.

We met up and walked around the city of Orebro to see the castle which is located at the heart of the city before sitting down at a local cafe he favourites. He was super down to earth and a really cool guy. Thanks again, Jho!

I had him sign a few cards for my collection, too!

Updated the collection with a Swedish playing card!

The 'Fair Play & Respekt' Swedish Playing Card set was developed by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association (Svenska Ishockeyförbundet) through their youth academy program to help young players learn about the game of hockey, promote fair play, and grow the sport in Sweden.

Each playing card in this 52-card deck displays a unique Q&A and features numerous players from the Men’s & Women’s National Team over the years.

These were provided directly through the association and they were also available to be developed independently as well by teams, organizations, etc. I know another set of these playing cards was released in 2006, and this newer set to include more players was designed around 2015 I believe.

those cards you had signed in Sweden are fantastic, crease... particularly that Young Guns card.

The playing card is also a very cool addition for the PC.

I don't normally showcase duplicates, but I received a very cool package that contained a few sweet cards, including another High Gloss Young Guns for my PC! So awesome! What a great random act of kindness! Thanks, Blake!

Success! After a quick search, I have located the other ITG Between The Pipes Promo Card Sheet from 2010-11. Another one of my favourite products which also depicts a Enroth card from the product.

Updated the collection this week with my 61st 1/1 card! With the help of a few generous people pointing me in the direction of this card, along with a good buddy of mine helping me land it, this is one of the coolest patch pieces in my entire collection.

2013-14 ITG Between The Pipes One Of A Kind 1/1

This patch is from the front crest of the Buffalo Sabres' 40th Anniversary alternate jersey that the Sabres wore from 2010-2012.

I’ve started a new autograph subset in my collection called “The Builders Category”.

This project will include Enroth cards autographed by the people who helped bring the card to life. It will feature various people within the industry who played key roles in creating the card they will have signed.

The first addition to this project is none other than former ITG President, Dr. Brian Price. For those who don’t know, Brian founded In The Game (ITG) in 1998, creating his own line of various trading card products until 2014, when the ITG brand and assets were sold to Leaf Trading Cards. Brian continues to work under his new company, President’s Choice Trading Cards.

I had Brian sign a copy of Enroth’s 2008-09 ITG Between The Pipes base card. This was Enroth’s first North American hockey card after coming over from Sweden to join the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League in 2008.

I kinda think there should be a thread titled “Let’s Talk About the Jhonas Enroth Collection Thread” with some instructions on how to escape. I took a deep dive down this rabbit hole over the weekend and had trouble getting out (well, actually I haven’t been able to get out yet). I started here in this thread, then after scrolling through a few pages – I realized there was a link posted to your web site. After going through the Enroth card gallery, the game-used memorabilia, and other collections – I hit the blog. I got as far back as May 2020 and thought it would be a good place to take a break and actually do something productive. Just as I am about to walk away, I forgot that I had opened a link to “Center Ice Card Cast”. At least I was able to enjoy several episodes while NOT enjoying the tedious task of cleaning out the garage (but the podcast made it more tolerable at least).

I don’t understand how you have time to keep up with all of this. It is insane.

So much to unpack. The Enroth collection is absolutely incredible. Not just the cards, but all of the work behind assembling the collection and keeping it going for so long…the dedication and passion is inspiring. I could not even begin to pick a favorite, but you have seen a little bit of how I collect. So, it should not come as a surprise that one of my favorites is the 21 Ice Medallions. Those are so so sweet. The Vezina/Kolzig President’s Choice has that great eye appeal – stunning, captivating…just everything – it is a beast. Meeting up with Enroth during your vacation in Sweden – EPIC. That brings me to your blog. I can’t wait to pick up where I left off…really enjoyable to read and the level of positivity is a nice contrast to the increased negativity in the hobby these days. Maybe the negativity has always been there – people just have more platforms to spread the negativity now. Nevertheless, I have a great appreciation for the way you use your platforms (including the podcast – which is also really enjoyable).

Anyway, I am writing a novel. Thanks for continuing to share the additions to your collection(s) and creating more content to keep the hobby fun for everyone!

yes, crease's Enroth collection website is totally awesome, and literally where I got the idea to create a website for my own collection... lol, mine's not as structured as his site though, as I just randomly post cards on game days.

as crease mentioned in your Ovi thread... you should consider creating a site for your "one of a kind" Ovi collection... both platforms crease and I used to create ours are simple to use and free, (however, I paid for a domain name).

It literally would not take much more time than the thread you created, now that you have the scans... maybe use a photography template (mine is an auto garage template).

on crease's site... 2013-14, those four 1/1s are just gorgeous.

Wow.... thank you so much. I can't really put it to words how much this comment (and all the other comments people leave for me in this thread) means to me, but I'll try to do just that.

In appreciation for your comment and overall length, I will also "novel" right back haha:

I'm fully aware that my PC at first glance doesn't usually draw the attention of many others, especially those who collection more notable names in the sport, or the influx of investors and "hustlers" we've seen pour into the hobby in the past few years, however, this lane of collecting found me and I can't help but want to share that with other like-minded collectors. I don't have the budget that others here do, but that doesn't mean it will stop me from crafting an impact on this hobby in my own way. Positivity is awesome and I hope that everyone can experience that in this hobby. The negative aspects will pop up from time-to-time, but as long as you have your own collecting lane to focus on, you should be okay.

This collection has evolved from a simple player collection to becoming everything I enjoy about the hobby reflecting itself into one player collection, if that makes sense. You'll notice how my collection can veer off into sub-collections that may not be as popular to the collecting masses, but still incorporate the Enroth theme, like the cameo cards, product Promo sheets with his cards, unofficial IP/TTM autographed cards, jersey numbers, redemption cards, art cards, my latest 'Builders Category' autograph project, etc. While there are too many cool cards and card elements out there in the hobby that are collectible, by scaling it down and fitting it all into one player PC makes it manageable and keeps the card collecting fire going.

The forum threads I operate here and elsewhere, while "old school" in today's day and age, is something that I enjoy doing. Updating my thread from my little corner of the hobby has been therapeutic in a way. I too have gone through the back pages of my own threads to see how my collection has evolved over the years. The small date & time stamps on these posts also serve as a reminder of where life was at the time and what those new cards brought to me at the time, whether that period of life was going favourably or not.

As far as the website goes, it was something that I am not well-versed in, but I wanted to make it happen after seeing other collectors do the same. It really inspired me, truly. I created my website in 2017 and have been slowly tweaking it over the years how I display my collection online, plus adding new cards along the way of course! The blog portion came into play a year after and has acted as a tool that enabled me to expand my thoughts and feelings towards my collection acquisitions in a little bit more detail than I could here on a forum thread.

The podcast was something that came about suddenly in 2020, when a hobby friend of mine got the idea and asked me to co-host a podcast about hockey cards. We both had no idea what to do next, but after discussing it in length at what we both wanted the podcast to be, it finally took shape into what you see today. We aren't podcasters by trade, but I feel like we have a good balance between being informative about the hobby, but also fun. Episode 56 was just published today actually and I feel like it is very relevant to this post actually. Cool stuff.

Thank you for tuning in to my collection thread (and reading those long-winded response), as I appreciate it more than you could ever know.

Aaron

I added another card to The Builders Category autograph project today with this 2016-17 Upper Deck O-Pee-Chee Jhonas Enroth card signed by Upper Deck's Product Manager/Builder, Billy Celio.

Since Billy built the O-Pee-Chee product that year, I had him sign this base card for my collection and it turned out great.

Updated the collection with a small upgrade today. 2009-10 Ultimate Collection Debut Threads 33/35. These patch cards usually contain a number patch from the back of the jersey, so to find one with a Sabres emblem patch from the front crest of the jersey was a nice little find for the PC.

Updated the collection today with a non-card item, but still cool nevertheless.

I recently picked up this sweet "Game-Used" NHL Club Playing Roster sheet from a game between the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks on April 8th, 2015. This official roster sheet is from Enroth's 5th career NHL shutout game, as Dallas ended up winning the game 4-0.
