I was thinking Quickley was the best piece of the trade. We will see if NY can keep OG this summer. If so, they have a solid core with Brunson/Randle/OG.

People acting like they just found out RJ sucks is funny.

I also think Quickley was the best trade piece. He’s been playing really well in the few games with the Raptors.

OG is a really good role player.

Wolves win. Ant went quiet but KAT had his 1/3 of the time nice game.

Now they need to do that against established teams consistently.

I am also glad he said something, but it won't do anything. The league has an agenda and wants the Lakers to be competitive, so they will help them out when they can.

Yup. Nothing is gonna change besides Darko getting a big fine.

In other nooze, NBA stood strong and did not recant on the Jalen Brown head brush. Bottom line is, "JB did get hit in the head, but he is Ok physically." [the mere fact that contact occurs does not constitute a foul] Hield smirks, but no investigation required.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but what other explanation is there for NBA/NFL just hunkering down and defending their shitty refs no matter what? Just embracing a poorer product? Doesn't sound like good business to me, unless there are ulterior motives.

And people just keep watching despite the constant compaints and influencing outcomes. Hell every year in the NFL there is at least one really bogus call that has serious playoff consequences. How do people accept that?

seems like the Kawhi to OKC dream is dead - dude really wants to be home in SoCal, - hard to blame him since he's already got multiple rings with different franchises

[Charania] Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard signed a new three-year, $152.4 million contract extension, keeping him under contract through the 2026-27 season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Massive fully guaranteed, long-term commitment in LA.

He would have been a perfect fit in OKC. Oh well.

Yeah but then you'd have to live in Oklahoma. I feel like the only less-desirable NBA city to me would be Memphis, maaaybe Detroit (I keep hearing Detroit's improving though so idk). Teamwise obviously not a bad spot to have a chance at a run, but just glamor-wise and being close to much truly cool.

It's not just that officiating has been bad but it's ridiculous how much it benefits the Lakers.

The gap in free throws since the Westbrook trade last season is ridiculous. Last time I checked it was among all-time high spreads.

Oh well. Good for Kawhi, seems like he enjoys being home.

efforts to save face can backfire. If these folks want to be accountable and honest to the customer, they can just say that we have human refs for now and they're going to make a lot of mistakes. Some will go out of their way to be awful like in the example daeve posted, and that should be acknowledged as well, but in no way sheltered via fines against critics.

Then again the NBA evidently has rules against team personnel being the critics. They need to do that stuff through media surrogates

It isn't even just admitting being wrong, it's actually vindictively thumbing their nose at teams and players. Remember when PI calls/no-calls in the NFL became reviewable? They made it a point to say "just so you know, you're not gonna like the results." I think the only changed calls that wound up happening were TDs the refs reviewed themselves post-fact to overturn no calls on holds or weird tiky tack penalties. Then they refused to change any PI calls/no-calls on the field. Like a quarter of the way through coaches stopped bothering. The heads of officiating have seemingly no meaningful oversight and you get punished for daring to say anything. Multi-billion dollar sports leagues and they just leave their naked azzes hanging out in the wind with this lack of credibility.

I think he may have started a trend amongst the other coaches around the league ... weed out the worst refs like Taylor ... that would be a good start

No, he wouldn’t. The thing okc needs the most is rebounding, not another guard size player.

Minnesota threatening to ruin Boston’s perfect home record, leading by 3 early in the 4th. This one should have a fun finish.

The Pelicans are thumping the Warriors. Looks like 2 different games being played on the floor.

Jrue Holiday was a huge get for the Celtics. He's been clutch during the game tonight.

That was a great win…they were down 9 with just a few minutes left in the 4th, and they didn’t even have Porzingis. I said it a couple weeks ago and I’ll say it again, the Celtics are winning the title as long as they can stay healthy in the playoffs.

Jrue has been huge for them, always making the right plays. When he chased down that rebound to knock it off one of the Wolves players, even though they lost possession in the coaches’ challenge, it was still a big turning point in the momentum of the game. And he’s also bringing his championship experience to a locker room that desperately needed someone to help get them over the hump. The Celtics probably had the best offseason with the additions of Holiday & KP.

GM and Coach are equally inept for the Pistons. Idk what’s worse: putting Killian Hayes, Isaiah livers, janes wiseman, and Kevin Knox all on one team… or being the coach who gives them all regular minutes while watching better players play less or out of rotation completely. This dude Williams is literally begging to be fired so he can collect the rest of his contract from a couch.
