I'm glad there are no autos and sketches in this specific set. That would be way too many(15,500 estimated boxes). What I would love is a red/onyx of Vader or Leia.

I think collectors enjoy the different options this hobby offers. Nothing wrong with that.
Can't lose when you buy what you like for yourself. All the "to the moon" investment stuff is just icing.

And you get BO award for best Star Wars nerd lol

I'm surprised to see the mixed responses. This product is an absolute win... Star Wars is waaay more popular than GPK~ I would say that Star Wars has a much bigger following than F1 even... plus Star Wars fans are all about their collectibles, you also have the nostalgia factor of it being a throwback set.

I reckon you'll see prices hold the $425~ line until the public sale blows up in everyones face. Once the first few breaks get posted on YouTube its' game on. Blowout will post a bounty for $500+ soon enough, and people will pay it. Only thing that will slow it is someone pulling the Luke/Vader 1/1's. $1000 a box by years end, maybe sooner.

Because they don't have adequate fulfillment capabilities. Topps is an utter disaster when it comes to DTC distribution. That's the Fanatics' playbook.

For MC/online items they are literally shipping out 1 or 2 boxes at a time sometimes for over 30,000 orders. Even cheap stuff like blasters are sometimes real low limits. So to say they couldn't handle the extra shipping is ridiculous. Just don't put such low limits on products and let normal buyers order more than 1 or 2 boxes at a time. Topps has also been under the Fanatics banner virtually all year. So if Topps is Fanatics why aren't they using the Fanatics distribution playbook?

Any excuses for why the Panini money tree is never ending for the price manipulators? Let me guess. Panini has let them make between 1.5-12 times what they pay Panini for the vast majority of hobby products for 2 1/2 years straight because its not worth it for Panini to get the "fulfillment capabilities"! So Panini just decided to flush that money down the toilet. Funny how Panini has no issue having countless FOTL floor prices be way higher than they charge the bums for the hobby version. Take Prizm basketball FOTL next week. 10,000+ boxes with a floor price of $1,100 for normal buyers but 99% of 50,000+ boxes of Prizm hobby they sell to their good buddies for give or take $280 a box.

What's even more ridiculous is since Panini and the bums started fixing FOTL it's not like anything worth having will get near the MSRP floor anyway. They could make the Prizm basketball FOTL floor the $350 it should be and still pull the product/ make sure it "sells out" when they want. They put that high floor on it for the same reason BO keeps listing MSRP for hobby products. They can care less who knows how much they are bending everyone else over.

I think you need a new hobby. And outlook on life. You seem miserable. Life is too short. Find something else that makes you happy. This obviously isn't it.

Sounds like you're complaining about capitalism?

Of course we'd like to see lower prices, but the market heated up and Topps/Panini decided to charge more. Why should NBA FOTL be $350?

Are companies only allowed to make a certain ROI and no more?

I used to think Panini owed us FOTL at MSRP, but I've since come around (thanks @stats).

BO already has a bounty of $350 for Star Wars Sapphire. Wonder if they are getting their usual allocation.

Seems low if these are going to be $1M next week.

Just noticed this on Cardboard Connection:
"However, the mock-up images supplied by Topps don't showcase any added effect when compared to the originals. It's very likely these will look different in hand, but that won't be confirmed until the live cards start to surface."

I'm sure MC members won't be able to buy another box during the public drop. It'll say we already bought our limit of 1 box per account.

And then the bots will buy 100's

Another early morning bot fest followed by a late afternoon surprise drop for normal people?

I don't think there are enough boxes to go around for this to happen. I wouldn't be shocked if there's no public drop at all and the remainder go to distributors.

Normal people will not be getting any more of this. The bots are fired up and ready. Topps will crash.

To be fair i thought that of the last Bowman Sapphire public release and somehow managed to snag one with my old alt account due to the odd way in which it was released/re-released

Up to 10 boxes. Going to be so hard not to rip.

Full disclosure I got 18 boxes from the GPK Sapphire public release and opened them all lol.
