Here's another timeless card / set design. The whole product, base and inserts are superb and that's an awesome card. I have one of these myself and I'd love to find the Gold parallel at a decent price.

Great stuff! I pulled that card when I was a kid when black diamond had just come out. Didn't know who he was then and the card sat in a shoebox for about 15 years before I picked up the hobby again and dug through my old collection. It was a nice surprise!

What's funny about team colored cards, is that the color purple comes out in many variants. I am sure it is the same with other colors, but with purple it is very evident, especially on these SPx cards. Its a b**** to find two matching ones, in case you want to put the base and gold next to each other.

I know exactly what you're referring to. Some of them are straight up navy blue and no one will be able to convince me otherwise. I wish they had been able to get everything correct. Horrible if you have OCD with cards like I do.

Got 3 packages in the mail today, but was only expecting 1. The other 2 cards can be found over here >>> http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/b...-question.html

But this card here is my poverty pickup and as such will be featured here. The fact that this card can be had for poverty prices blows my mind. This is a card that I attempted to purchase on ebay about a month ago, at a really good price, but when I received it the card was badly damaged. So I returned it, with nothing but excellent service from the seller (sfgiants770), and figured I'd have to spend $10-15 more to find a good copy. I was wrong. I got this for $17.50 dlvd and I'm pretty thrilled about the price. People always give credit to the Topps Chrome as being Kobe's best RC, but I'll argue that this is his actual BEST RC any day of the week. The Chrome may sell for more but this one is nicer looking in every way to me. This copy has some slight edge damage on that silver inner box around the "cloud window" but nothing that was going to deter me from jumping at this price.

Thanks for the comments guys. I like hearing stories about why people buy the cards they do, especially when those stories are more than just "itz mojoz bro".

Anyway, got this in today. Took

to get here from The Phillipines. Shipped out on January 8th and I just got it today. Seller also kinda screwed me on the shipping cost. Charged me $4.75 to ship but there's only 125 ($2.52) pesos in postage on the package. The card arrived unharmed though, and that was my main concern after seeing the paper-thin bubble mailer it was shipped in.

I was a big fan of Davis! Got the Gold and the AS jersey going on (always been a fan of those AS pictured cards), very sweet pick up.

AD was my favorite player growing up but I never collected him (never got into player collecting until the early 2000's). Just recently decided to start tracking down his RC year stuff and nicer parallels from his time with the Pacers.

I remember that Kobe was booked for $100. I think it is still $50 or something. That E-X and the Finest RC had been my most valuable and favorite cards for a long-long time.

I freaking love it. It's got great centering and it's not diamond cut at all like what plagues lots of cards from that release. So happy to have gotten it for the price I did.

Whoa, is that Kobe e-x a scan or a pic? Looks like a hybrid.

Beautiful shot.

Office Lens baby! It's a "scanner" for your phone. You can take a pic of a card, at the angle that gets the best light on the card, and the app will change the orientation of the pic so that it's "flat" like a scan. It really comes through in the clutch for cards that have a lot of foil/color change effects. This is what my actual scanner did to the card...

I remember trying that app and not seeing any noticeable differences, but the fact I wasn't messing with the orientation explains it.

Herp derp.

This isn't mind-blowing by any stretch of the imagination and the cards aren't fantastic but I was able to get this lot for $12 ($2 each). I've always liked Al Thornton and Kareem Rush so I figured what the hell...

The triple auto is #20/25, Thornton is #/149, Rush is #/99

Holiday is #/49, Maxwell is #/99, bought the Parsons just because he's a Grizzly

I love how UD just said, "Hey, these guys all have the same first name. Let's feature them on a triple auto!"

Haha I know right. I kinda wanna go through the checklist and see which other names they combined onto one card.

Love that Kobe EX2000 and everything that MyckKabongo posted. Rad stuff guys.

I already posted most of these in my recent mail thread but figured I'd post the cheap stuff here too because what the hell, right?

$1.49 shipped!

$3 shipped on this one. I can't believe it took me this long to grab one of these and I never knew this set was printed on acetate so that was a surprise when I received the card. It's a really unique card, combining the etched foil and acetate. What are some other 90s sets that are on acetate but with no transparent parts of the card?

Lot's of nice cards that I'm way late on responding to, so I'm just going to drop these here:

The Stormin' Mormon himself in Row 1 Legacy Collection form. I got this Payton from JEA and the Class of '98 card I got from RaVCcollector, I actually picked up a couple more Class of '98 cards, but didn't upload them. If any one is dying to see Pat Garrity or Michael Doleac Class of '98 cards, let me know.

I also got this bad boy here from JEA. There was a line going down the middle that you can't see in the scan, so he gave me a great deal on it. The line doesn't really bother me too much, this 8x10 blow up card is EPIC in hand and the signature is top notch. Very happy to have it home in the collection.

That Kemp auto is gorgeous. The colors are so crisp and clean. Great signature too.

I had a few things sitting on my desk when I got to work this morning. Got pretty solid deals on all 3 of these. The Stoudamire cost me $2.73, the McConnell $4.98, and the Tinsley $12.50 (all prices include shipping). Really happy to get the McConnell so cheap. I've been trying to find a nice RC parallel of him but he wasn't in a lot of the products that came out last year. When I saw this one pop up with a funky starting bid, $1.99, I knew I had a shot at getting it cheap. Kinda irritated with the seller charging $2.99 for shipping, then shipping PWE. Not only did they ship PWE but they didn't even put anything in the envelope to protect the card (other than the toploader that housed the card). Almost left a negative feedback but the card arrived without any damage so I left a positive but dinged them on the ISR's and left a comment in the feedback.

Pennywise, I'm digging everything you posted a lot. As far as non-transparent acetate goes, there's an insert set in 01-02 Stadium that I like called Dunkus Colossus. Those cards have a combination acetate and chrome effect. I think the Rejectus Maximus set might be similar. I'd bet there are some earlier sets but that's what comes to mind.

So I got a fun little mailday for my birthday. Havent been chasing singles much, but sold a lot on COMC, so used the funds there to start stockpiling cheap, but nice looking inserts and RCs for my Chicago PC binders. I got exactly 100 cards for a total of about $115. All 4 major sports, plus some golf and miscellaneous. Only scanned part of the basketball.

First off, some newer, shinier Bulls cards

Really digging the Butler Red Wave Prizms, just nice looking in person.

Then some slightly older cards. Mostly RCs of Kukoc, Grant, Armstrong... Plus a Jalen Rose 03-04 Refractor.

And the bigger name players. Well Rodman and Pippen at least:

The Die-Cut All-Star is one of the most expensive cards in the group and was still under $10. My favorite is probably the Rodman High Voltage

And last but definitely not least:

A couple of older Jordans that I somehow didn't have, a Reggie Miller RC, b/c every "old school" collection needs one, and then I needed a nicer Jordan. Unfortunately, COMC is not the place to find a nicer Jordan. I ended up overpaying a little, but got a Member's Only version of one of my all-time favorite card photographs. Worth the extra just to add a nice card picture to the collection.
