Agreed.

Neither do the buyers looking to get a free card.

Solutions ranged from switching from cardboard mailers to PWE type envelopes.....going to card savers over top loaders.....or going with the 3oz $1.25 rate. And some haven't changed anything and all is still going well....no rhyme or reason.

I have recently been getting a handful of my 1oz .69 ese back. Have had three the last two weeks, never had a problem before.

This last week this has been happening to me, were you able to just reprint the same postage?

It may have to do with the USPS temporary hires working in the sorting room....or it could be what you are using to mail them in. I am still not having any problems using card savers and PWE type envelopes, knock on wood.

It seems to be limited to ones i sent in cardboard mailers, hope it’s not what someone said earlier that it’s usps cracking down.

So you are sending the cardboard type rigid mailers using the $0.69 1oz rate?

IMHO, yes....you have been getting away with it....and many others do the same. Some get thru, some don't.....the cardboard mailers can easily be considered too rigid, especially when using a top loader, to go thru the sorting machines, which means they should be using the non-machinable 3oz rate of $1.25. If you have new people sorting that could be the problem, or it could be the USPS cracking down....no way of knowing for sure.....and some, if not most, still go thru with no issues.

Honestly it’s always just been about buyers wanting the cheapest shipping possible. I’ll probably just go back to the 3oz and call it a day to avoid any issues.

Either that, or switch to card savers with a PWE....it's what many have been using without any issues. The only time I use a top loader is when I have a thicker card....I still use a PWE, but I do bump it from the 1oz rate to the 3oz rate. It's what works for me, with many 1000s shipped without problems.

I always use card savers for ESE unless it’s on the higher end of the 20 dollar limit. But really no reason not to use card saver on all of them since I’ve never had an issue with a card arriving damaged using them.

I have used top loaders without one issue. Most of the top loaders you buy today are pretty darn flexible. Once you put a card inside a Card Saver, there is hardly any difference in thickness or flexibility.

This may be true for you, but is not for most others. This thread has been filled with dozens of people, myself included, who have switched to card savers and have seen better results. I was probably getting 2-3 rejected when I was using toploaders only. I haven't had any sent back since changing.

I wouldn't say most. I have had no issues with receiving ESE from over 100 sellers who used top loaders. There are a few select post offices that are the cause of the issue. The people that have issues are the most vocal, so it seems like it is a bigger issue with top loaders than in reality. If your local post office is causing you issues, then switching is your only option. For the majority of us, the local post office doesn't seem to care.

I can speak to results over a fairly decent quantity of sales.

Shipping in a card savers has pretty much eliminated any issues I had previously. I think most toploaders get through but I would get a small number back each month. With card savers it's like 1-2 every six months.

I have had two recently where buyer was given postage due on there envelope. Once for Ground Advantage ($4.80) and once for ??? (.50). Those have been the only two issues since mid-summer with ESE.

Usually the issue is a PO employee who isn't aware of the contract or misunderstands it.

Quick ESE question. Had my first ESE refund request today. Item does not show delivered. But the purchase date was September 8, and I can't get a PIP refund even if I wanted to.

Can I turn the request down? Or am I just being scammed with no recourse?

Buyers only have 30 days after the estimated delivery date to request a refund.

Most likely it is a buyer that is going through all of their old purchases and seeing something not being marked as delivered, even though it probably was, and trying to get some free money. I would just deny the refund and eBay should close in your favor.

Thanks guys, contacted the buyer stating that I can't give a refund on this item due to the duration of time.

Just issued my first refund for INR since Oct. 31. Beteween that, the lack of non-pays, and the quantity/quality of sales I had been on a roll!
