Weird..so came to this wal mart and theres a vendor and it looks like shes about to start stocking..i ask her if she has any basketball and she tells me "i cant discuss that with anyone anymore". She then proceeds to take the basket she has and leave the area without stocking anything...

Some shady stuff going on right now. I'm at Walmart and there are 3 MJ holding boxes. A guy walks up with a name tag and says he can't put them on the shelf until Walmart checks them in. He said to come back tomorrow and then takes the boxes in a cart away. Unsure what to do lol

Yep at this point I’m dreaming of finding a place like a couple others Ive heard where they just keep em behind CS and it’s 1-2 of each product per person. Don’t see how anyone could complain, everyone gets some cards and it doesn’t encourage grown ass men camping out or taking the entire section for themselves.

Bad enough that its impossible to buy from walmart and target website with all the bots but now you have to deal with these shady crooked reps.

That's about all you can do, or just walk away and get on with life. These shenanigans are happening all over the place and it's up to Topps, Panini, & the distributors to fix (funnel the profits made in the secondary market into their accounts). It seems like the system that some Targets have where you go to the customer service and they allow you to buy limited quantities is fair. The lottery Topps did with Finest Flashbacks was fair as well.

Supply up, price down. $79.50 free shipping for blasters on eBay with listing after listing about to undercut each other.

Still a nice flip, or hold until next season and no good RCs to chase at the 20-21 blown-up prices. I still don't get why people are clearing the shelves of blasters that sell on eBay for $30 free shipping. By my calculations there is basically no profit.

Yep I am seeing hanger box prices dropping quickly as well. The flood is coming, the next few days should be the best time to buy before stock dries up and prices go back up.

Crazy out there. Pop into Target about every 2 hours as it’s 5 minutes from my work. First time this morning grab some Starbucks and nothing happening other than 3 guys checking while I’m waiting on my coffee in 5 minutes which didn’t give me much hope for later unless I hit the time right. At 1130 go over and see a cart of boxes there and a lady and son digging through. Walk up and lady tells me the target manager brought them out. Thankfully they were there for baseball only. Grabbed 4 Megas, 6 Hangers, a sealed box of cello that they had to open to scan and 5 blasters.
Let 1 blaster there and some old guy comes up as I’m finishing putting my boxes in the cart and grabs the single then asks me if I’d give some of mine up. I asked him if he resells and he tells me he might open one or two and resell the rest. I told him sorry me and my son open and are collectors so I won’t share. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well said. Buying the correct products in a saturated secondary market can net way more profits than folks buying at MSRP and instantly flipping.

I went to Walmart this morning when they opened and was able to get some Chronicles. There was another guy there so we split most of it. But the rep was still there and told us a crazy story from yesterday. A person pretended to be a MJ Holdings rep and hit up a couple of stores. He apparently had an older shirt that they wear and went into the back and stole most of the boxes from the store. When she came to stock they asked why she was there because someone had already came in earlier. Hopefully they can catch this person from the cameras.

Guys. I can't believe it. I found 24 blasters this morning at Walmart. I wasn't going to post yet so as not to alert the masses to the other 8-10 Walmarts in my area, but I know they already know, so best of luck to them. I got mine.
And it comes with a story. ![]() I'm teleworking today. A lot of my job is (virtual) meetings so I have flexibility at times to leave the house during them. I agreed with my wife to take two of our kids to their piano lessons this morning while on a call. After the first kid finishes and comes out, she and I run to Walmart to do some quick grocery shopping during my son's lesson. This is my local (semi-rural) Walmart, and I know when this rep stocks ... every Friday before the store opens, like clockwork. So you have to understand that cards are barely on my mind. Regardless, the card section is the first place I stop by. And the rep is there. Stocking. On an off-schedule day. ![]() She is on the phone, I am with my daughter (who talks non-stop). I see a full stock of Topps Chrome BB (left it there), but no Chronicles. So I just glance over into one of the unopened boxes. Sure enough, two full displays of Chronicles blasters. Once she's off the phone, I politely ask if she has any Chronicles. She rolls her eyes and says "yep, that's the hot one now". I can tell she isn't in the mood for pleasantries, but I'm determined to become her BFF. So I say, "I bet you've really been dealing with a lot of crap, huh?" And that's the trigger. She says, "You wouldn't believe it. People are waiting for me when I get to the store. Grown men yelling and fighting over this stuff. I've got people following me out of the store to the next store. I've got people literally following me to my car. I'm sick of it. So I decided to just come in on a different day." As she's saying this, she kindly dumps both displays into my cart. We talk a little more about how crazy it all is. I tell her I hope her work days get better, but she seems succumbed to her fate. I take my daughter to pick up a few groceries. We hit the self-checkout lanes by the card section. Sure enough ... one of the local flippers has arrived. He is flustered and is giving the MJ stocker grief. He's looking through her boxes to see if she missed any. She didn't. Now he's on the phone. I get to watch this unfold as I and my daughter are scanning these blasters, one at a time. Some real modern-day voyeurism. The one thing that still bothers me. This flipper would normally be outside Walmart on Friday AM, waiting for the store to open. So how did he know she was here, off-hours on an off-day? Which caused me to ask the next logical question: What are the odds that somewhere, someone is crazy enough to GPS-track an MJ Holdings stocker's car? |
