Angels fan here, the only body language comparison I have for Soto is Garret Anderson. Garret Anderson frustrated the heck out of all Angels fans with his horrible body language and laziness. Straight laziness.

Having said this, Garret Anderson still managed 2,500+ hits, 275 + HRs.

Garret Anderson was fine when all is said and done.

Soto will be fine. We may, as a baseball community, need to get used to Soto's body language and laziness if this is his new norm. Embrace and cheer him on. He will be okay.

Maybe that's the problem.
He went through the same thing with the Padres.

I really like Soto, but he's human and -- apparently -- pretty sensitive and it takes him time to get comfortable and get in the groove.

It's funny that it wasn't a bigger storyline during the contract conversations, but I have no doubt he'll work through it. But for those who haven't seen Soto over the years, get comfortable because it might not be until September or even next spring.
Burn money, stay warm….amazing to see how people didn’t understand the player, just the deal.

We all know he becomes the DP king when he’s playing at the mlb average player level. He just never had the contract to boot.

Real question is, does he have any decent looking cards yet this year ?

I have not been looking but what have seen on IG with Topps doesn’t really give me any hope that there will be lol.

I’m more concerned about that company’s direction than anything, it’s terrible

He’s just human and cares, problem is if you care visibly and not throw your helmet and beat up the gatorade jug it’s the alternative display we are seeing.

I know he’s 53 and this isn’t expected.

“Pop outs/line outs ?” not being gappers, a HR robbed etc. are just how it goes. It’s probably exhausting as a really good hitter to not get “ lucky”. At this level when you mix in some luck on top of being mediocre, your an Allstar.

He’s been more good/great than lucky and always will. That’s why he’s pissed and seemingly pouting, not the type to snap a bat over his knee.

I agree, it will take 2 hot weeks to get back to standard fashion, that’s a good thing

He should have stayed with the Yankees. He took a great situation and tried to get something even better.

100 percent. It doesn’t get much better than hitting in front of Judge.

The Mets offered a trivial amount of money more than the Yankees. As reported, the difference maker was the club spot for his family that Cohen was willing to give. Silly.

He’ll come around, but that doesn’t change my opinion that he should have stayed with the Yankees.

He is in a better position. Further, we all watched and saw that the Yankees had no chance against the Dodgers, especially without Soto. If they signed Soto, their roster would look a lot different.

He wants to be #1 on his team. That would never happen on the yankees

Where does this come from? An interview with him? Your assumption? All this time, i just thought that he wanted more money (shameful, I know). Speaking of which.. Will any of you sell me his cards for much less than others are willing to pay? Or do you all care too much about yourselves?

of course he wanted the most money.
but i would think he wants to be the best on his team as well (which would never happen on the yankees)

on the Mets, the hitting bar is low.... Piazza, Strawberry, Wright, Alonso, Lindor

He's barely halfway to catching Willie Mays on the all time Mets HR list. He should be closer than he is

The Mets took the Dodgers deeper than the Yankees. How much better are the Yankees than the Mets right now? It's truly negligible. The Yankees literally had no chance against the Dodgers. If the Mets had Soto last year, they arguably could have beat them. And he got more money. I love how baseball card collectors become communists with everyone else's money

“Market Price”

Check comps on talent or in your proposed scenario comps on cards….would I take $50 more than market, sure depends on the buyer I guess

He’s a winner and competitor, you don’t need to assume. We are collectors, but if you want to pay more I might sell it to you ?
