I never denied crime exists, I have lived in a city with pretty violent areas. My mother also taught elementary school in an area called "The War Zone" and scenes like that played out once and a while there too. I never said there aren't places that have it really rough. But you can't deny thise scenes get painted as happening constantly all over to people glued to their TVs in rural areas and people start to develop a fear of spreading violence, minorities, people out to get them. This all despite the fact that violent crime rates have been trending downward for decades now. The fear is heightened but the reason for the fear is going down, or never was existent in the area they live in to begin with.
