I'm so happy there's no structural damage. Inflammation doesn't feel very good, but hopefully this rest he's getting will stop the flare up. I read that he's not likely to be put on the IL. He'll be tested again Monday, and maybe he can put this wrist inflammation behind him. Ronnie had me scared.

Ok, new guy question, don’t flame me too hard lol, I’m still getting my head around the various 2018 topps acuna’s...jeez there are a lot!
Why doe the Topps Chrome 193 sell for so much less than the topps 698 or “bat down” 250? I guess I get the 250 as it is ssp, but why 698 over chrome? Thinking about most other things chrome outsells paper? Was looking into chrome but then I was like, why are these so cheap? Last edited by BRob1; 08-13-2020 at 03:07 AM. |

I'll give you a quick rundown... 698 (bat down) was the first released card with a RC logo in Topps Series 2. (SSP) 250 (bat up) was released later in Topps Update and was a base RC. Many will argue that the 698 is the true Rookie because it was first. Others will argue that the 698 was a short print so cannot be the true Rookie. 250 must be the true rookie since it was a true base card. Then of course you have all the us250 parallels which are also designated RC and you have the 698 parallel in Topps Sapphire Chrome also designated RC. There is a factory set rookie which has the same image as the US250 (bat up), but I think it has the numbering 698... (the only difference here is the RC logo position which shifts from left (250) to the right (factory set 698). As to which is his real rookie? I don't really care, I like and own all of them (the base ones). If you are asking about a favorite, then I will choose the Sapphire parallel RC. In the end it comes down to what you like. If you are looking for a scarcer "base" RC then it will be the bat down 698, if you want a more mainstream then you can look at 250 of which there are loads and loads. That's how I have it, if I'm wrong someone can just correct me. |

I guess as far as what I like best it’s the chrome prism, but I also like things that go up in value lol! |

And then there are the short print update rookies.... but I'm not going into those now. I'm guessing your question had more to do with the regular rookies. |

The chrome definitely goes up in value though. I bought 40+ Topps Chrome 193 PSA 10s last year on COMC for $24-25 each... sold them all off now for between $80-100. And they are even higher now, so they are moving. Just a bit slower. |

2020 Topps chrome has a relic card that is basically what US250 chrome would have been . Oh what could have been in Chrome Update .

Usually, in basketball & football, Chrome is a nicer version of the paper set. But in baseball, it's its own individual release with its own unique checklist and photography. As people chased photo variations, more and more demand was brought upon Black/Indy/Camo/Father's&Mother's Day/Gold/Rainbow Foil. If you weren't collecting then it's almost impossible to accurately describe the amount of demand there was for Acuna cards. Stuff was going up in price on an hourly basis in some cases. People were drawn to flagship because there is such an array of parallels that it allows virtually every collector to join in on the fun at their own individual price point. Arthur |

XBox Wrist. Jesus. If that is actually true that’s quite sad.

Not sure if there's an actual report but some people have assumed it's because he and Ozzie play video games every night together. Not sure why that would be sad though.

![]() Either way, playing some video games isn't going to get your wrist injured imo so not sure if I believe that story (rumor?). |
