Plenty of people agree with not getting them because of the multiple cards. No one's taking issue with that. It was the "keep the RC logo off" comment like that's something they would ever do.

On another note: Since when have we been relying on the RC logo to designate their "true" rookie? As said before, the rookie is the first card issued in a pack - plain and simple. The examples of Bryant and Correa are exactly spot on. I'm really surprised there is so much angst about the RC - of course they put the RC logo on there and, of course, the Series 2 or update Story card will be his true rookie. These NOW cards are like inserts or parallels.

What will be really funny is if Story doesn't hit 150 HR's this season and when his Rookie comes out in a pack, he only has like 12 or 15 and is batting .272 or something.

That's a great example - if Topps was smart marketing this they could get plugs like that going in all sports and make a killing. Of course I think Topps reads threads like this so keep those ideas coming.

huh? topps does not make this decision, mlbpa and their contract does

too often we put blame topps for things that are NOT in their control

as for 2 story cards, I think many will see the first as the most valuable or actual ROOKIE of this set, but if there are more later on like for his 30th hr at AS break or something (HA!) then if print run is low, that could factor too

but yes, just because rare doesn't equal value

I don't see issues with folks buying some to sell, I have not bought any yet, but talked about this early today on twitter
95% of collectors no nothing about Topps Now
many don't have twitter or use BO, or buy on topps.com
also some can't buy on topps.com due to shipping costs or restrictions
and since 1 card is $9.99, some are being sold for just $8 on ebay, so for those that want 1, it's a cheaper way
or some that didn't realize and want to go back and get ones they missed earlier

of course if too many are bought to flip, then print runs will get sky high and prices will fall flat, which could happen sooner than later

I like this concept by Topps. I personally will be looking at purchasing RC, Indians players, and "unique" offerings. For RC with multiple cards I'll buy each one to put together a "set" of that player. I'm not looking to flip these short term so the current offerings don't bother me.
